Listening to My Unborn Baby, I Became the Elite Darling Chapter 06
Vivian was furious, but there was nothing she could do as she watched Julian carry me out of the
house and rush me straight to the hospital.
The paternity test caused such a massive uproar that the entire Sterling family was alerted. Even Julian’s grandfather, Alistair Sterling, rushed over overnight from Viremont City.
Leaning on his cane, the old man stormed into the hospital and immediately started scolding Julian
Before Julian could speak, I stepped in front of him.
“Mr. Sterling, please don’t blame him. This was my decision. Once the test is done, people will finally stop spreading rumors about Julian.”
Pain flickered across Julian’s face.
Eleanor looked even more distressed. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she held my hand tightly.
“When has the Sterling family ever cared about gossip?” she demanded. “You’re six months pregnant. An amniocentesis is dangerous!”
But my baby was completely on my side.
[I’m not scared! Hurry up and poke me already! Once the results come out, Dad’s annoying first love can finally disappear and stop clinging to Mom!]
While Vivian stood nearby with a smug smile on her face, I gritted my teeth and underwent the procedure.
By the time I came out of the room, I was pale and trembling, one hand pressed against my lower back as I struggled to walk.
Then I saw Vivian grab Julian’s arm and drag him away without him even glancing back at me.
My baby exploded in anger.
[What kind of trash man is he?! Mom’s bleeding and he doesn’t even care!]
[When the results come out, I better see him suffer while trying to win Mom back!]
I forced out a bitter smile.
Deep down, panic and self-doubt twisted together inside me.
How could someone like me ever compete with the woman Julian had loved for years?
Maybe my baby and I were never meant to belong in the world of the elite.
The thought kept me awake all night.
The next morning, Eleanor personally came to pick me up and brought me back to the Sterling estate, insisting that I needed proper care after everything I’d been through.
The moment Julian saw how weak I looked, guilt flashed across his eyes.
“Clara, once the results come out, I’ll give you a proper explanation and I promise I’ll…”
Before he could finish, Vivian suddenly burst into the mansion holding a document in her hand.
“I got the report!” she shouted excitedly. “The baby in Clara’s stomach isn’t Julian’s after all!”
My blood turned cold.
At the same time, both my baby and I screamed internally.
[That’s impossible!]
Seeing my pale face and stunned expression, Vivian rushed forward and smacked the papers against my face repeatedly.
“You really thought you could use a cheap trick like pregnancy to marry into the Sterling family?” she sneered. “Trash will always be trash. A crow will never become a swan!”
“I knew this whole thing was your scheme from the beginning. Thank God I came back in time to expose you, otherwise you really would’ve fooled Julian!”
My knees nearly buckled.
Just as I was about to collapse, Eleanor caught me.
The warmth vanished from her expression instantly. Her eyes turned terrifyingly cold.
“Vivian,” she said sharply, “where exactly did you get that report?”
“From the testing agency, obviously!” Vivian answered confidently as she opened the file and displayed it to everyone. “I paid extra to rush the results.”
She pointed proudly at the conclusion.
“Look carefully. Clara’s baby has absolutely no biological relation to Julian.”
The second Julian saw the words on the page, a freezing aura settled around him.
Alistair’s expression darkened as well.
The servants nearby immediately began mocking me alongside Vivian.
“So she really was just another gold digger trying to sleep her way into the family.”
“How could she ever compare to Miss Ashford?”
“And she failed, too. Mr. Sterling hates liars more than anything. Just wait and see what happens to
her now.”
Vivian lifted her chin arrogantly.
“Well, Clara Miller? What excuse do you have now?”
Then she turned toward Julian.
“Throw her out of the Sterling family immediately. And all the money you spent on her? Make her pay back every cent. If she refuses, sue her for fraud.”
But Julian remained completely still.
His unreadable gaze locked onto me, deep in thought.
The look in his eyes made my scalp tingle.
Was he really going to destroy me that mercilessly?
The room fell into dead silence.
Then Eleanor slammed her hand against the table.
“I’m the one who commissioned the paternity test,” she said coldly. “And I’m the one who paid for
- So why is it that I haven’t received the results yet, but you somehow got them first?”
