Imprisoned, Poisoned, She Took His Throne Chapter 06
Luca’s POV:
“Don Vitale, Donna jumped into the sea while she was out at the beach!” Victor’s voice was choked
with tears.
My face went pale, and I jumped to my feet.
“Another suicide? Send someone to search the water right now!”
I was not panicking.
She has attempted suicide many times, but each time she was stopped.
This time would be no exception.
“She’s not allowed to die without my permission!”
Victor stammered, “We’re searching, boss, but we can’t find her. Donna might have drifted far
away with the currents.”
I clenched my phone so tightly that the veins on the back of my hand bulged.
Giulia snorted derisively from the side: “What’s the herry? She’s probably already swum ashore
and hidden herself away. She’s slit her wrists and jumped off buildings before-she never actually died any of those times. That slut just loves to put on a show!”
She had a point.
Elena couldn’t bear to part with me; she wouldn’t die.
Giulia handed me a glass of whiskey and said, “Send a few people to wait for her at the beach. Once it gets dark, she’ll be hungry and scared, and she’ll definitely come crawling back.”
As I drank the whiskey, my mood gradually settled down.
But the moment I closed my eyes, Elena’s face fills my mind.
I couldn’t wait any longer, so I decided to call Victor
“Have you found Donna yet?”
“Don, the search and rescue team has combed the entire sea but hasn’t found any sign of Donna.
The chances of her survival are probably very slim…”
I slammed my phone down on the floor; my whole body was shaking, and I felt dizzy and
lightheaded, almostfainting.
Giulia came over to help me up: “Why are you making such a big deal out of this? If she really is dead, then we can get married? That’s a good thing…”
“Shut up!”
I yanked my arm free from her grip. “She won’t die! I’m going to find her!”
A fierce wind howled along the seashore at night.
Victor was soaked to the skin: “Don, we brought in a professional search-and-rescue team from New York, but all we found were her clothes! The experts say the water temperature drops sharply at night, so there’s no chance she’s still alive…”
I grabbed him by the collar, my eyes bloodshot.
“Keep searching! She can’t possibly be dead. Even if-even if she is dead, we have to find her body.”
After a night of searching, still no sign.
I dragged the bodyguard assigned to watch over Elena out into the yard and personally broke three
of his ribs.
But I know this was just venting; even if I killed every member of the Long Island gang,
save Elena.
I was terrified, but I still tried my best to reassure myself.
it wouldn’t
“It’s okay. She must still be alive. The fact that we haven’t found her body means she’s still alive. She must have gone into hiding, just like Giulia said. I hurted her recently, so she’s hiding to see how worried I’ll get.”
Then something suddenly occurred to me.
I rushed into the study and turned on the computer.
To keep an eye on Elena, I had her wear a smartwatch.
The watch features GPS tracking and heart rate monitoring, so I could view the data on your
computer.
“Found it!”
I eagerly clicked-
Location: in the ocean. Heart rate: zero. “No… it can’t be…”
I slumped to the ground and muttered, “I just wanted to teach her a lesson. How could this happened…”
Giulia burst in and offered a feigned consolation: “The data might be wrong.
I shoved her away violently and grabbed the computer, smashing it on the floor.
The screen was shattered, yet it still showed a heart rate of zero.
“I didn’t want her to die! I just wanted to control her and let off some steam-I didn’t mean to drive her to death!”
A flicker of triumph crossed Giulia’s eyes. “Is Elena really dead this time? Does that mean we can finally get married?”
In a fit of rage, I slapped Giulia.
“It’s all your stupid idea! You’re the one who killed Elena! Why did you push her to this point? Why did you have to make her your slave?”
