Imprisoned, Poisoned, She Took His Throne Chapter 04

“Stay on as a servant for Giulia and me. Once the baby is born, I’ll forgive your debt; otherwise, we’ll see you in court.”

As I watched that couple, I suddenly calmed down.

“Luca, I won’t forgive you. I’m going to take back everything you and Giulia stole.”

Luca snorted.

“You don’t really think that just because you know a few of the older members of the Salerno family, you can take revenge on me, do you? Let me remind you: you’re no longer Don Salerno’s favorite Principessa.”

Giulia laughed along with her: “You’re nothing but a homeless dog—you can’t do anything except beg us to let you go. Oh, wait—you can also apologize to me.”

I snapped my head up. “In your dreams! You killed my father and stole my husband—I’d rather die than apologize to you!”

Giulia looked at Luca with a hurt expression.

Luca had Victor take me away.

“Lock her up. Don’t Let her out till she’s willing to apologize to Giulia.”

I was locked in the basement and went without food or water for three days, then I passed out.

When he woke up again, Luca and Giulia were standing at the entrance to the basement.

“If you’ve come to your senses, apologize to Giulia.”

I lowered my head and clamped my mouth shut.

Giulia flashed a malicious smile.

“Elena, do you love your three unborn children so much that you want to know where they’re buried?”

My body shuddered.

Every miscarriage wrecked my body and my mind.

The family doctor said I shouldn’t be exposed to any stress.

Luca always uses this excuse to stop me from visiting our child’s grave.

I’d asked him countless times, but he still wouldn’t tell me where the children’s graves are.

Three years, and even Giulia knew where my children were buried, but I didn’t.

Giulia looked down at me from above: “Kneel down and polish my shoes, and I’ll tell you.”

I knelt.

Not because I was afraid of her.

It’s because I want to know where the children are laid to rest.

She lifted her foot and stomped hard on my knee with her heel.

“Does it hurt?”

I didn’t say anything.

“Speak up!”

“It hurts.”

She smiled and held out her other foot toward me.

“Keep wiping.”

I looked down and wiped the limited-edition high heels Luca had bought for her with my sleeve.

I scrubbed for a long time, until my arms started to ache, before Giulia told me to stop.

She inspected her shoes and said, “Why didn’t you clean them properly? They’re still so dirty. Fine, just lick my shoes clean with your tongue.”

I froze.

Luca stood nearby, lit a cigarette, and didn’t even bat an eyelid at Giulia’s request.

I closed my eyes and bent down in despair to reach her shoes.

Giulia suddenly kicked me in the shoulder, and I fell flat on the ground.

“Hahahaha! Are you really going to lick it? Elena, you’re such a good dog.”

She crouched down and cupped my face in her hands.

“To be honest, I’ve long since forgotten where they’re buried. It was three years ago—who remembers that clearly?”

“I remember I just had one of my men bury them back then, but that man died later, so no one knows the exact spot anymore.”

I clenched my fists so tightly that my fingernails cut into my palm, and blood dripped through the gaps between my fingers.

“Poor little ones— forgotten by everyone, once and for all.”

Luca tapped the ash from his cigarette and said casually to Giulia, “That’s enough. Let’s just consider that as Elena’s apology for what happened earlier.”

Then he glanced at me.

“Now that you know you were wrong, just stay home and work as a servant—don’t even think about fighting back.”

I bowed my head as blood dripped from the palm of my hand.

“I understand.”

His voice was as calm as a still pond.

Giulia linked her arm through Luca’s and said in a playful tone, “Luca, you’ll have to make it up to me tonight. That mad dog held us up the whole day.”

Luca ruffled her hair. “Okay.”

They left.

The door slammed shut behind them.

I knelt in the darkness and slowly raised my head.

There were no tears in her eyes.

Only fire.
