Imprisoned, Poisoned, She Took His Throne Chapter 03

“Elena’s back. What if she sees us?”

Giulia scoffed, “So what? You promised me tonight. Isn’t she supposed to stay in Newport for another two months? Why did she come back?”

Luca covered her mouth. “Keep your voice down! She still holds the Salerno family’s connections and won’t tell me about it.”

Giulia pried his hand away. “I think she’s just being dramatic, trying to get attention! She’s attempted suicide time and time again, but she never actually died, did she? If she weren’t in Donna’s position, would we really have to sneak around like this?”

Inside the house, I clutched the blanket tightly.

Outside the door, Giulia snuggled into Luca’s arms.

“Luca, I don’t care. I want you with me right now.”

Luca couldn’t help but feel a stir of desire as he looked at Giulia’s alluring figure.

“Okay, promise to keep quiet.”

The two of them fell onto the sofa, kissing.

Soon, Giulia’s moans filled the air.

Luca covered her mouth. “Keep your voice down.”

Giulia smirked, “What are you afraid of? I put a sleeping pill in that glass of milk.”

Luca let out a sigh of relief and kissed him. “Smart.”

Early the next morning, Luca returned to the bedroom and, seeing that I was already awake, gave me a gentle smile.

“Did you sleep well? The chef made your favorite for breakfast.”

I turned my head away. “Luca, let’s end this.”

His smile froze. “What nonsense are you talking about?”

I took out my phone and handed him the screen.

“A message Giulia sent this morning.”

I played the voice messages—“Elena, why aren’t you dead yet? Your husband and I were making love all night. He’s so good in bed—we used three condoms, and he still wants more.”

“You think he really hated me when he spilled wine on me last time? He was just putting on a show for you.”

“Do you know on the night he spilled the wine, he spent the whole night in my bed comforting me, and he put a whole street’s worth of properties in my name?”

……

Every time he opened a voice message, Luca’s expression got more grim.

He suddenly grabbed my hand and said, “It’s all lies! You know Giulia hates you—she’s deliberately trying to drive us apart and ruin our happy marriage!”

I snorted derisively. “Luca, you’re such a great actor.”

I pulled out my photo album and showed him the pictures I took this morning.

Three condoms—in the trash can outside the master bedroom.

Realizing that the truth had come out, Luca coldly threatened me.

“You really want to end this? The Salerno family is already in ruins. Do you know that for the past three years of our marriage, I’ve paid every single one of your bills? You’ll pay back every cents. Otherwise, don’t even think about walking out that door.”

I was shaking with rage.

“The Vitale family is what my father risked his life to build for you! If it weren’t for him, you’d be nothing more than a common thug!”

Luca sneered.

“That’s all in the past. Don Salerno is dead, and your family has been torn apart by other gangs.”

“If you behave yourself, you can still be my Donna. But if you insist on a divorce, I promise I’ll sue you and leave you deep in debt.”

Giulia walked in wearing my pajamas, and the hickey on her neck was glaringly obvious.

“Elena, stop being so silly. You’re a mad woman enjoyed being Luca’s Donna for so long—isn’t it only fair to pay a little price for it?”

I stared intently at her.

Luca patted Giulia’s hand. “Stop, or the mad dog will bite you.”

Then he turned to look at me, his gaze cold as ice.

“Elena, this is your last chance.”
