“You don’t have to come in to work tomorrow,” Ashley said. “I hope you understand.”
The security had already boxed up all my things and left them by the office door.
I felt completely hopeless as I watched the life I had finally gotten back on track fall apart again.
I couldn’t help but pull my phone out and unblock Faith. I wanted to ask her why she had to do this.
“Will you only be satisfied once you’ve destroyed me?” I cursed at her.
But the second I unblocked Faith on social media, I noticed that she had just made a new post. It was a photo of her and Henry soaking in a hotel bathtub together.
The caption read, “You’re the one I never want to lose.”
I calmed down upon seeing the photo. If I called her right now, it’d only turn into another fight where I vented my frustration.
That’d be letting those two get off far too easily.
I made up my mind to get revenge on Faith and Henry. I saved the recent posts she had made on social media and sent them to my lawyer. At the same time, I told him that I wanted to sue Faith and Henry.
Once I was done, I recorded a video in response to Faith’s article and revealed my secret marriage to her to
everyone.
After uploading the video to all the platforms I could find, I turned off my computer. Dealing with this issue involving Faith had worn me out completely. I fell asleep as soon as my head touched the pillow.
The next morning, I was woken up by my phone ringing-it was my lawyer. He told me the court had accepted my lawsuit and that he would inform me when it was time for the hearing.
I wasn’t surprised by how fast things were progressing. To me, the sooner everything was settled, the better.
At the same time, I received more good news. The video I had uploaded online had gained a lot of attention. The tide of public opinion suddenly shifted, and some netizens began speaking up for me.
Ashley kept me updated too.
To turn public opinion against me, Faith even revealed my position within the company and the details of my work. She was trying to force me to resign through sheer public backlash.
What she had done had seriously damaged the company’s interests, so the chairman, Mr. Jeremiah Smith, immediately filed a lawsuit against her.
“Faith has gone too far,” Ashley said. “Since you’ve already spoken up, the company will back you up. I’m sure they’ll reinstate you before long.”
I understood the company was in a difficult position, so I didn’t hold it against Ashley.
What I didn’t expect was that Faith posted another update not long after. This time, it was a video of her sobbing miserably, saying she would never make up something like that and ruin her own reputation.
