He Used My Trauma As A Wedding Eve Entertainment Chapter 05
But just like before, none of it mattered.Â
My desperate struggles amounted to nothing.Â
against the crushing weight of fate.Â
When the security guards forced my mother andÂ
me out of the hospital, I was completely spent, myÂ
tears dried up.Â
My throat was so raw I could barely make aÂ
sound.Â
I clutched her thin, withered hands and sobbed,Â
“Mom, I’m sorry. This was all my fault…Â
Her hands kept getting colder.Â
She had been so close. So close to getting theÂ
specialty medication she needed.Â
She was supposed to watch her only daughterÂ
walk down the aisle today.Â
Everything had been supposed to get better, littleÂ
by little, just like Graham had promised.Â
But then…Â
Her fingers twitched.Â
With enormous effort, she lifted a hand, trying toÂ
wipe away my tears the way she used to when IÂ
was little.Â
“Don’t cry, Mira. I’m here.”Â
But in the end, her hand never made it to my face.Â
It dropped.Â
And she stopped breathing.Â
“Mom… I was wrong. I really was wrong…”Â
There on the curb outside the hospital, I held myÂ
mother’s body and cried so hard it felt like my soulÂ
was tearing apart.Â
And with her body growing colder in my arms, myÂ
heart died too.Â
A crowd gathered.Â
Then Graham came running toward me.Â
His eyes were red as he grabbed my shoulders. “Mira, I’m sorry. I got here too late.”Â
I looked up at him blankly.Â
“I don’t have a mom anymore.”Â
He lowered his eyes., unable to meet my gaze.Â
“It was an accident, Mira. I… I just wanted you to realize your mistake. This whole thing was just a misunderstanding.”Â
“Forget it. I’ll make it up to you,” he continued, throwing his hands up in a dismissive gesture.Â
“We’ll reschedule the wedding. I won’t hold the past against you anymore.”Â
My voice was, unable to meet deadpan. “So I’m supposed to thank you?”Â
Graham frowned. “That’s not necessary. I made mistakes too, so now we’re even.”Â
He hesitated, then added, “But Vivienne was only trying to help me work through things. You’re not going to blame her for this.”Â
Behind him, Vivienne smirked, her eyes gleaming with malicious satisfaction.Â
“Congratulations, Mira. Even after all this, Graham still won’t leave you. You must’ve been a saint in past life.”Â
“I’m over here making heroic sacrifices for your relationship. Don’t tell me you’re petty enough to be jealous.”Â
“Honestly, with your history, you’re the one whoÂ
came out ahead.”Â
Graham’s expression hardened. “Enough. It’s over.”Â
I nodded numbly. “Yeah. It’s over.”Â
I took a breath and let him help me to my feet, clutching his arm and looked at him like he was all I had left. “Graham, you’re all I have now. You won’t leave me too, right?”Â
Relief flashed across his face. He smiled and tightened his hand around my wrist.Â
“Of course not. I’ve never stopped loving you.”Â
I smiled back.Â
“That’s good.”Â
And in the next second, I dragged him with meÂ
straight into oncoming traffic.Â
The crash hit like a bomb going off.Â
My body flew.Â
So did his.Â
I saw blood burst from his mouth and nose as heÂ
was thrown backward.Â
“That’s good,” I whispered.Â
For one brief second, our eyes met in midair.Â
His were full of pure disbelief.Â
Then his body slammed onto the road and rolledÂ
several feet away.Â
Mine crashed into the rear end of another car.Â
It hurt.Â
God, it hurt.Â
But it still didn’t come close to the pain of losingÂ
my mother and being betrayed by the man I hadÂ
trusted most.Â
When I hit the ground, blood spilled freely from myÂ
mouth and nose.Â
The sky was so blue. The sunlight was too bright.Â
And I was getting colder by the second.Â
“So this is it,” I thought. “The broken one gets toÂ
break completely.”Â
“That’s good.”Â
My vision blurred, and fragments of childhoodÂ
began flickering through my mind.Â
I was small again, safe again, spoiled and loved, the kind of little girl who had never known fear.Â
My parents were smiling as they walked towardÂ
- me.Â
“Mira, come home.”Â
A tear slipped from the corner of my eye.Â
Mom and Dad had come to take me home.Â
That was good.
