He Used My Trauma As A Wedding Eve Entertainment Chapter 04

A hush fell over the room.

Some of them tried to comfort me, telling me to focus on healing first. Others couldn’t understand why my doting fiancé wasn’t at my bedside.

“You two didn’t have a fight, did you? You know how men are. If it’s something small, sometimes you just have to let it go.”

Maybe they really were trying to be kind.

But all I heard was blame.

Cold, sharp, familiar blame.

It felt like the whole world was pointing at me again, telling me that no matter what happened, I was the one at fault. I was the one who deserved it.

Like I had been born guilty.

But what had I actually done?

What had I done to deserve any of it?

My head started ringing again, and I forced out a weak smile, trying to ask everyone to leave before I fell apart.

Then someone in the crowd gasped.

“Oh my God… what is this?”

“Isn’t that Mira in the video?”

“Wait, is this from what happened before? No… this one’s in a car…”

My whole body went rigid.

Phones came out one after another. Heads lowered. Screens lit up.

And the second they saw it, I knew.

Whatever hope I had left dropped straight through me and shattered.

“Mira, what is this?”

“Did someone attack you again yesterday?”

“Oh honey… how were you not more careful? No wonder the wedding got called off.”

“You poor thing. But why does this keep happening to you? Why are men always targeting you?”

The blood in my veins turned to ice.

My mouth opened, but no sound came out.

Or maybe there was no answer I could possibly give.

I wanted to know too.

Why me?

What had I done?

Then I heard a voice I knew all too well, bright and smug and dripping with satisfaction.

“Because some women are just born asking for trouble.”

“Sorry, but I wasn’t about to let you turn around and make Graham the bad guy, so I went ahead and shared the real reason the wedding got called off while all your people were here to see it.”

“So maybe take the hint, know your place, and stop clinging to a man who doesn’t want you.”

My chest tightened so hard it felt like it was caving in.

I dragged in breath after breath, ragged and useless, like someone in the middle of an asthma attack.

“You… you’re lying…”

Vivienne made a show of looking innocent. “Am I? So that wasn’t you under those men?”

“Because the marks on your chest and that mole on your thigh sure looked familiar.”

“Oh, wait. I almost forgot. Maybe it wasn’t assault at all. Maybe you got paid, and then it doesn’t count, right?”

The room broke into another wave of ugly noise.

I tried to lunge at her.

Instead, I hit the floor hard.

Pain exploded through me. My bandages split, and fresh blood spread through the white.

Vivienne covered her nose in disgust.

“Wow. You two must’ve gotten wild. Look at you. Hope you didn’t catch anything.”

“No wonder Graham dumped you. Who the hell would want a trashy slut like you?”

The relatives who had been about to help me hesitated mid-step, then awkwardly pulled back.

I stared at her, shaking, but my body wouldn’t obey me. All I could get out were broken, rasping sounds that didn’t even resemble words.

Vivienne smiled wider.

“God, look at you. You’re like a dog.”

“The more I look at you, the filthier you seem.”

She turned toward the door and raised her voice. “Doctor? Nurse? Why is she still here? Throw her out.”

“What patient would want to be in the same room with someone like this? And from what I hear, she can’t even pay her own medical bills.”

That last line hit me like a knife.

“My money… that was for my mother’s treatment…”

Vivienne’s smile gleamed.

“Oh, please. Gold digger.”

“You’re still trying to bleed Graham dry even now?”

Then she widened her eyes in fake surprise. “Actually, thanks for reminding me. That old woman should be kicked out too.”

A doctor hurried over, looking deeply uncomfortable. “Ms. Shaw, this… this really isn’t appropriate. We can’t do that.”

Her face hardened instantly.

“Did you forget who owns this hospital? The Whitmores are the majority shareholders, and my family is right behind them.”

“I’m not going to let trash like this stain this hospital and drag both our family names through the mud.”

Terror ripped through me.

I dragged myself forward across the floor, reaching for her with trembling hands.

“No… you can’t do this…”
