The next day, someone knocked on the door.
I opened it. A man in a plumber’s uniform stood at the door.

He wore a mask and spoke in a low voice. “Ma’am, I’ve fixed the pipe.”
I was wearing a white nightgown. The light scent of jasmine hung in the air. Making everything feel charged.
I smiled sweetly. “Thank you so much. My husband is out of town. I had no idea what to do when the pipe started leaking.”
The man’s face darkened. He looked unimpressed. “Of course. I’ll be going.”
As he turned, I caught the collar of his shirt. And trailed my hand down his chest to his stomach.
His breath hitched.
I blinked. “It’s so hot out. Why don’t you stay for some chamomile tea? It’s my husband’s favorite. Very calming.”

Ethan’s lips curled up, but he turned his head away and sniffed. “Then why are you with me?”
I brushed his damp cheek with mock sadness. “Idiot. You forgot again. You are my husband.”‘
He was speechless.
He thought maybe he should just play along.
What else was he supposed to do when his wife’s imagination ran wild?
