We were still the same people we had always been.

I almost passed out from exhaustion.
In the dark, Ethan asked me. “Baby, why were you so cold to me before?”
I was suddenly wide awake. I immediately made a face and shifted the blame.
“You’re asking me? It’s your fault for always working late. You made me overthink.”
“I even had a dream that you were leaving me for another woman. You were going to cut me off with
nothing. And I found that perfume in our house.”
“Explain yourself.”
I got angrier as I spoke. I climbed on top of him. “You better have a good explanation.”

My eyes lit up. I leaned in and whispered in his ear.
