When My Twin Sister Stole My Mate Chapter 06
Rian went half-mad looking for me.
He went to the French restaurant I frequented, the boutique stores on the commercial street, and even pulled strings to search the entire city’s departure records.
But there was not a single trace. I hadn’t left a single wisp of my scent behind.
My phone number was disconnected. All my accounts were wiped clean. The mind-link was entirely broken. The studio lease was voided, and the client records had been completely transferred.
It was as if I had evaporated, purging his mark from my world completely.
On the third night, Zane pushed open the door to the Alpha estate. Empty liquor bottles rolled across the living room floor. Strong alcohol had very little effect on an Alpha, but he had still drank himself into oblivion.
Killian sat by the fireplace, his knuckles gripping that torn totem sketch tightly.
Zane furrowed his brow. “Alpha, you cannot keep going on like this.”
Killian did not move. “She severed everything.”
“Perhaps she just needs a few days to cool off.”
“She took her passport, her assets, and all her sketches. She terminated her studio lease.”
Killian looked up with bloodshot eyes, his pupils half-shifted.
“This isn’t just a tantrum.”

In the past, no matter how sad I was, the most I would do was hide in a corner and cry for a few hours. Killian never needed to go out of his way to win me back, because he knew that regardless of what was said, I would always come back on my own.
But this time, my break was clean and absolute, leaving myself no way back.
Soft footsteps echoed from the second floor.

Daisy walked down the stairs holding a glass of water, a top-quality custom cashmere shawl draped over her shoulders.
Killian’s gaze suddenly locked onto that shawl.
That belonged to me,
I had custom-ordered it specifically for our honeymoon trip to the southern coast after the bonding. The corner was embroidered with a tiny letter F.
“Take it off.”
Hearing those words, Daisy froze on the stairs.
“Killian?”
“I told you to take it off.”
His voice was deep and hoarse, and his commanding Alpha tone instantly plunged the entire living room into dead silence.
Daisy caught the scent of danger on him, and her eyes instantly turned red.
Wjust felt too cold.”
“Who gave you permission to touch her things?”
“I didn’t know it was my sister’s.” She clutched the shawl tightly, looking pitiful and fragile. “I thought I could use everything in this house.”
Zane spoke coldly. “I never said you could freely take Miss Freya’s belongings.”
Daisy’s tears streamed down her face. “Killian, are you blaming me?”
“You were the one who said it was safe here. You were the one who told me to move in.”
“I was so scared back then, my wolf was about to give out…”
If it were the past, seeing her cry and tremble like this would have instantly melted his heart. He would have pulled her into his arms and taken all the blame upon himself.
But this time, he merely stared at the meticulously embroidered letter F on the edge of the shawl.
I had stitched that on myself, needle by needle, using the Moon-vine stitch. In the entire house, it was the most familiar source of my scent to Killian at this moment.
“Take it off.”
Daisy turned deathly pale. “Killian, you have changed.”
She stepped back again and again. “Do you also wish I would just die? Wish my wolf would burn up from the wolfsbane?”
She suddenly snatched a pure silver letter opener off the coffee table and pressed it viciously against the artery of
her wrist.
Several guards immediately surrounded her in tension.
Killian did not rush over in a panic to snatch the blade and hold her like he used to.
He simply spoke coldly, “Drop it.”
Daisy looked at him in disbelief.
“Do you really not care if I live or die anymore?”
“I will call a professional Healer over. The guards will watch you twenty-four hours a day.”
His gaze fell onto the smoking silver blade. “But don’t you ever use these cheap stunts to manipulate me again.”
A guard took advantage of her shock and easily disarmed the silver blade from her hand.
Daisy completely broke down sobbing, but Killian did not even bat an eye again.
Late that night, he spent a fortune hiring the top werewolf bounty hunter in North America.
Three days later, the hunter sent back a high-definition photograph.
In the photo, I was wearing a loose white linen shirt, my hair casually pinned up. I was standing in the courtyard of a beautiful independent studio in Nova City.
The afternoon sun spilled across my face, and I was smiling brighter than ever.
was a true smile, carrying a relaxed ease. A look Killian had not seen on my face in a very, very long time.
The hunter called.
“Alpha, the target is at a couture workshop in Nova City.”
“Who is with her?”
“A few employees of the workshop. And a young local human. The way he looks at Miss Freya is more than just friendly.”
The knuckles of Killian’s hand gripping the phone cracked audibly.
“Send me the location.”
He boarded his private jet to Nova City overnight.
By the time he arrived at the address, night had just fallen.
The evening breeze in Nova City carried the scent of freedom, and the neon lights lining the streets cast an inviting glow.
Killian suppressed his raging wolf and found the workshop with the courtyard.
The wrought-iron gate was left ajar.
Through the waist-high courtyard wall, he clearly saw me standing under the streetlamp.
That young human man was standing in front of me, holding up a somewhat clumsy bouquet of wildflowers. The stems were uneven, and it looked extremely ordinary, yet it radiated pure sincerity.
He handed me the flowers with a blushing face and a burning gaze.
I accepted the flowers, looked up, and smiled at him.
Killian stood frozen outside the courtyard wall like a sculpture of ice.
It was not until this very second that this arrogant, untouchable Alpha truly felt fear.
The invisible thread of the mate bond, the one meant to connect him to his fated partner since birth, snapped somewhere deep in his heart with a sharp crack.
He had arrogantly assumed that I was merely taking the opportunity to throw a temper tantrum, just trying to force him to bow his head.
But in reality, I had already left him behind, starting a new life that didn’t involve him at all.
