When I Dreamed of the Alpha Again Chapter 04

When I Dreamed of the Alpha Again Chapter 04

On the way there, Nathan called the pack elders and arranged a party in a restricted area of the pack territory—somewhere not open to outsiders.

I listened to his calm, methodical tone and suddenly thought of the Nathan after sealing the mate bond.

That version of him… was the kind of man who would only appear after inheriting the Alpha position.

Could it be… he had also been reborn?

The thought made my chest tighten.

No matter what, I couldn’t let Nathan notice anything strange about me.

The party was loud and chaotic. I stood alone in a corner, drinking kombucha.

Tiffany—our birthday girl—was clearly in low spirits. After a few drinks, she came over and looped her arm through mine, complaining in a familiar tone.

“Allie, Nathan gave me a custom-made necklace today. It’s too expensive—I told him I couldn’t accept it, but he said it was just a casual gift.”

“I really don’t know what to do with him. Was he always like this when he gave you birthday gifts?”

I paused.

With six extra years of memories in my head this time, I finally understood what she was trying to do.

She was testing me—testing the difference between Nathan’s treatment of her and me.

I forced a small smile.

“No,” I said.

“Really?” Tiffany’s eyes lit up for a moment, then quickly shifted into suspicion.

“Allie… you seem a little unhappy today. Is it because… Nathan only gave me a necklace?”

I froze.

And suddenly realized something.

Maybe the feelings I thought I had hidden so well in my past life… had already been seen through by Tiffany all along.

“No,” I quickly grabbed her hand, forcing my voice to sound sincere. “T, I’m really happy for you if Nathan treats you well. I hope… you two will always be good.”

In the midst of the noise, Nathan suddenly glanced over.

Tiffany looked like she still wanted to talk, but I only wanted to escape from both of them as quickly as possible.

I pretended to have a stomachache and slipped away from the party like I was fleeing.

The moment I left Nathan’s presence, I felt an immediate sense of relief. My steps even became lighter.

I was just about to flag down a car by the roadside when—

Nathan appeared behind me without warning.

“Allie,” he said calmly, “didn’t you say you weren’t feeling well?”

My whole body jolted.

“I… I feel better now,” I stammered.

Nathan stood above me, his presence heavy and suffocating. His gaze was dark, observant… probing.

“But Allie,” he said slowly, “I remember… after Tiffany died, that’s when you started calling her ‘T.'”
