Three Months After My Death Chapter 08
Bryce laughed when he heard Lori’s question. He laughed so hard he could hardly stand. Tears were streaming down his face from the laughter.
Lori was bewildered. “Why are you laughing?”
Bryce replied, “I’m laughing at how stupid you are, Lori. Don’t you know that Chad Lowry is dead?”
It felt like an explosion went off inside Lori’s mind. She stiffened.
She kept shaking her head and could not stop trembling. “That’s not true. Chad has always been healthy. How could he be dead? You’re lying…”
“Stop wasting time with her, Bryce. Just finish her off already!” The housekeeper hurried him.
Bryce grunted an affirmative reply and raised the knife again.
When the knife came down on Lori, my spirit tried everything to stop Bryce, but the knife in his hand went through my body.
I was just a spirit without a physical body. There was nothing I could do.
Just when I thought Lori would die, the door was kicked open by the police.
Lori had been in close contact with the police when she got home.
The police realized she was in danger when Bryce knocked her out and she no longer replied.
They wrested the knife out of Bryce’s hand and took him down. Soon, Bryce and the housekeeper were both pressed on the ground.
Bryce struggled to escape. “Let me go. This is all a misunderstanding. I was just joking around with my girlfriend.”
Once the ropes binding her were gone, Lori stared at the struggling Bryce. At this point, she found him even more disgusting. “This is a murder attempt, Bryce. Be prepared to spend the rest of your life in prison!”
Bryce’s expression was savage as he cursed at her out loud. “You’re a b*tch, Lori Levaine! If I knew how much of a b*tch you were, I would have ridden you to death in bed!”
Lori felt nauseated. Her expression turned grim as she asked Bryce, “I’m going to ask you one last time. Tell me where Chad is right now.”
Bryce started laughing wildly again when he heard Lori’s question. His laugh was sinister and crazy. “Haven’t I been clear enough, Lori? Chad Lowry is dead. He died in that accident on the bridge…”
“A steel bar pierced him in the accident, and he was seriously wounded. He begged you to save him, but you ignored him. That’s how he died. He died horribly, with all his organs mangled to bits. Hahahahaha…!”
Lori ran out of the house madly.
She dashed onto the road like a crazy woman while she repeated to herself that it was impossible that something had happened to me.
Lori lost a shoe along the way. When she arrived at the hospital, everyone looked at her strangely.
However, she was unperturbed.
It took a few minutes for Lori to find the nurse with my identification card in the hospital.
e nurse jumped in fright when she saw Loris’s reddened eyes. Lori grabbed her shoulders and asked, “Tell me who the person was who died on that bridge. Tell me!”
She stammered, “It… It was your husband, Chad Lowry!”
Lori felt like the air had been sucked out of her. She fell despondently to the ground. Tears covered her face.
“It really was you, Chad…”
“Why…. Why didn’t you tell me you were seriously hurt? Why didn’t you stop me? Why didn’t you make me stay and help you…”
Lori cried hysterically as I let out a bitter, hollow laugh.
