Those photos and videos were enough to shatter every lie Julian had ever told!
The year after my accident, Ivy joined Julian’s company and began their affair.
I did not have photographic or video evidence from that time, but I had some spending records and hotel check–in logs. It was ample proof that they had visited dozens of places together. They had gone bungee jumping, skydiving, surfing, and savored every thrill, including the excitement of their illicit affair.
Gradually, merely fooling around outside was not enough for them.
Their intimate moments of canoodling began appearing within the company, in different public areas that happened to be empty at the time.
I had secretly installed cameras and captured several gigabytes of evidence.
Julian trembled. His head was down. He did not dare to watch the footage of his passionate, frenzied encounters with Ivy.
His earlier roars had echoed in the room, making his current silence all the more pathetic.
My gaze remained impassive as I addressed him. “Your parents are asking you questions. Why aren’t you answering?
“Julian, do you still refuse to admit your infidelity at this point?
“I have plenty more footage that can’t be released publicly. Would you like to see those too?”
The courtroom erupted once more..
The uproar was even louder than before.
Reporters practically lunged forward for interviews, desperate for firsthand news. Their camera shutters clicked frantically.
“Mr. Shane, now that your affair has been exposed, what are your next steps?”
“Is the child in the mistress‘ womb yours? Why did you have her move next door? Did you deliberately want to be discovered to escape your current wife?”
Julian’s eyes were filled with panic and humiliation. He kept his head bowed low, unable to utter a word.
In the end, the court naturally ruled him the party at fault.
The only pity was that the act of infidelity did not result in alian being stripped of his assets. He ultimately retained 30% of the assets and kept his company.
The rest of the family’s assets and savings were all given to me.
That was enough.
It was enough for me to start anew and live comfortably for the rest of my life.
While leaving the courthouse, Julian was swarmed by reporters. He could not break free.
The mistress, Ivy, was also cornered. She was so frightened she began sobbing “Julian, help me! I’m so scared! My stomach hurts. I’m carrying your child!
“Can you bear to see him suffer?”
But Julian was being overwhelmed with his own troubles. How could he spare any energy for her?
Ivy then begged Julian’s parents for help, only to be treated like trash and kicked away with disgust. “You worthless thing! Don’t think carrying a Shane family’s child gives you power over us!
“This child is a disgrace to the Shane family. He’s a stain on our entire reputation.
“Even if you give birth, we will never acknowledge him…”
I could not be bothered to listen to the rest. After all, the Shane family’s affairs no longer concerned me.
I just wanted to get home quickly, sort through Julian’s things, and throw them out. I would sever all ties with him once and for all.
Just as I reached for my keys at the doorstep, a familiar meow suddenly echoed.
I saw that Ragdoll cat crawling toward me, barely clinging to life.
The cat that had previously ignored me was now actively rubbing against me, desperate for survival.
I froze for a moment.
Then, I mercilessly kicked it away.
I did not want things that came too late.
It did not matter if it was people or cats.
