“Julian, do you admit to the fact of your infidelity?”
The judge’s question instantly plunged the courtroom into an uproar.
“What’s going on? Isn’t Clara the one who cheated? How did it become Julian?”
“Your Honor, you must be mistaken! The internet is clearly buzzing with rumors that Clara was the one who cheated. She schemed against her own husband for her lover! Quickly rule that she should be stripped of all assets!”
The judge swiftly restored order. His authoritative voice continued. “Clara Hill has submitted evidence proving the online rumors about her are fabricated slander. There is no substantive proof of marital infidelity on her part.
Julian rose to his feet in a fit of rage. “If her evidence doesn’t prove she cheated, then how does mine suddenly make it valid?
“Clara adopted a neighbor’s abandoned cat. Just because that cat bonded more with me, she went mad demanding a divorce. Your Honor, are you going to declare me at fault based on a cat’s behavior?”
To pressure me, Julian had practically summoned every relative and friend.
Ivy was among them.
Of everyone in the courtroom, she appeared most invested in Julian. Disregarding decorum, she immediately stood and declared. “Your Honor, Mr. Shane and I are truly innocent!
“Please, help me persuade Ms. Hill. I can overlook her assaulting me, insulting me, and harming my child. I only ask that she stops tormenting Mr. Shane.
“How could she possibly use Mr. Shane’s money to support another man when he’s been so good to her?”
As she finished speaking, my image as a vicious, cruel, and unfaithful spouse was all but confirmed.
In the open courtroom, order completely broke down. Julian’s relatives and friends hurled verbal attacks at me, while every reporters‘ camera was trained on me.
Julian shouted at me in a trembling voice. “Why couldn’t you be half as sensible as Ivy? She forgave you for viciously harming her child. Yet you, for the sake of money spread lies about our affair to ruin her reputation! “If this keeps up, you’ll be the one left with a tarnished reputation. You’ll be the nation’s public enemy! “An infertile, vicious woman like you won’t ever find a boyfriend, let alone a husband!”
His words did not faze me. I could not help but laugh.
“Julian, are you saying this to me… or to yourself?”
Without waiting for his reply, I turned to the judge. “Your Honor, you may now release the evidence I submitted.”
As the photos and videos were displayed, the chaotic courtroom fell into an instant, deafening silence. You could hear a pin drop
Moments later, Julian’s parents were the first to rise, eyes red with fury.
