The Mafia Princess’s Revenge Chapter 02
The Don of the Costa family had a secret, deadly weakness: a severe high-protein allergy.
It wasn’t like normal allergies. A pill wouldn’t fix it.
If he reacted, he had to get to the hospital immediately.
Otherwise, it can lead to difficulty breathing, which may be life-threatening.
The second year we were married, I made seafood salad for friends. Juicy tiger shrimp were tucked under lettuce and cabbage. Gary ate one without looking.
That single bite made his throat swell shut. He nearly suffocated. Every ambulance in Brooklyn almost showed up at the Costa mansion.
Luckily, they got there in time.
He’d been furious in that hospital bed. He screamed at me for months. The whole family walked on eggshells.
After that, no high-protein food was allowed in the mansion kitchen.
I hadn’t eaten seafood in years—not for me, but for him.
At parties, friends asked if it was worth it.
I always smiled and said yes.
He was my husband. The king of this underworld. It was my duty as his wife, as his Donna.
These past two years, Gary fought nonstop—taking territory, seizing weapons routes, wiping out traitors.
I held up my end. I handled the family’s secret money laundering books, and I ran the mansion flawlessly.
Everyone said the Don and Donna of the Costa family were Brooklyn’s perfect power couple.
Then Jessica showed up.
Everything changed.
Gary was a ruthless Don who showed no mercy. One mistake, and his men begged for forgiveness.
But with his clumsy new secretary? He was uncharacteristically patient.
She messed up luxury receipts? He didn’t yell.
She was late to meetings? No punishment. Just a quiet, “Be more careful next time.”
Once, all he cared about was territory, profit, family pride.
Now, every meal, every walk, every night—he talked about Jessica nonstop.
He even smiled when he said her name.
I’d put up with it.
Women threw themselves at mafia Dons all the time. It was nothing new.
But when I watched him eat that crab without hesitation.
Every bit of anger and hurt inside me exploded.
He’d betrayed me!
I could forgive anything.
Cheating? Never.
“Gary…starting to itch, isn’t it?”
I smiled sweetly, but my voice was like a blade.
I saw it—the way he tensed, the way he held back the scratch.
The allergy was already kicking in.
Gary gritted his teeth, his voice sharp with rage.
“Enough, Brianna. Stop acting crazy over nothing!”
“I haven’t slept a full night in three months taking Red Hook.”
“Jessica was just being nice.”
“She has a boyfriend. You’re being ridiculous.”
Jessica stepped forward, playing the victim. “Donna, you’re the lady of this family. I shouldn’t speak, but I have to.”
“Don Costa fought his heart out for you, for this family.”
“I just felt bad he was tired and gave him some food. Why is that a sin to you?”
She pulled out her phone, put it on speaker, and called someone—right in front of everyone.
A young man’s voice flowed out, warm and doting.
“Hey, baby. Party over yet?”
