The Healer’s Fatal Warning Chapter 05
On the phone screen was the complete, unedited surveillance footage from outside the Sanctuary.
There were no cuts, no alterations.
Every second of the video was ironclad proof.
The footage clearly established the timeline.
9:00 PM: I finished my watch and walked out of the Sanctuary.
9:10 PM: I received the call from the trauma wing and rushed back.
9:18 PM: In my haste, I missed the open wolf trap and fell in.
For the next twenty long minutes, I had no way to get out or even move.
The Enforcer’s gaze swept coldly across the crowd.
He then spoke slowly, his voice loud and clear.
“According to the patrol’s report and the rescue records, Cora was trapped at the bottom of the pit the entire time. Her right leg was severely injured by a silver spike, and she was completely incapacitated.”
He added more weight to his words.
“So please, explain to me how a person impaled by silver and trapped underground managed to use witchcraft, run into the advanced healing room, participate in the entire procedure, and cause the Luna’s death?”
The question hit them like a physical blow.
The hallway was dead silent.
The wolves, who had just been baying for blood, now just stared at each other.
The anger on their faces froze.
They were all stunned into a brief, confused silence.
But at that critical moment, a powerful, authoritative voice cut through the silence from the back of the crowd.
“Enforcer, the external surveillance alone doesn’t absolve Cora of her medical responsibility.”
Everyone whipped their heads around.
It was the Head Elder, Harrison.
His face was grim and imposing. The aura of a powerful leader instantly calmed the room.
He gestured to an assistant behind him.
Someone immediately stepped forward, handing him a tablet and a medical file.
Harrison spoke with an air of righteous authority, completely overturning everything that had just been
established.
“The internal surveillance from our advanced healing room can prove that the healer responsible for this medical tragedy was, in fact, Cora.”
As he finished speaking, an assistant turned on the tablet.
The camera footage from inside the healing room was projected for all to see.
The moment the screen lit up, every eye was glued to it.
In the video, a female healer was dressed in a sterile white coat, wearing a surgical mask.
Her height, body type, and even the way she held a hemostat were identical to mine.
Her face was completely hidden by the cap and mask.
You could only judge by her general appearance.
On top of that, the camera in the healing room was mounted high on the ceiling.
The top-down angle distorted the view.
The Enforcer held the tablet, comparing the person in the video to me over and over, but he couldn’t find a single flaw.
Next, a signed medical chart was presented to everyone.
In the lead physician’s signature block, one name was written clearly: Cora.
