The Don Who Called Me Dirty, Begged Me Back Later Chapter 05

The Don Who Called Me Dirty, Begged Me Back Later Chapter 05

The rain poured over Rivermont all night.

The next morning, Salvatore sat in the hospital, staring at the gray sky outside the window, frowning. Bianca had been frightened the night before, so he had stayed with her overnight. Only after the doctor confirmed the baby was fine did

he relax.

He glanced at his watch. Eight in the morning.

At this hour, Elena would have had breakfast ready. Even his clothes for the day would be perfectly pressed.

He pulled out his phone and dialed her number.

I am sorry, the number you have dialed is busy”

He tried three more times. Same result.

Salvatore’s face darkened. Still sulking,he muttered coldly, tossing the phone on the table. He assumed Elena was just at home, nursing her anger. If he went home and gave her a little

kindness, she would come crawling back like a

stray. After all, she had no family left in this world.

Where else could she go except the DeLucal

family?

Salvatore stood up and ordered his consigliere to

handle Bianca’s discharge. He drove himself back

to the villa.

He pushed open the front door. The living room

was silent.

No aroma of food. No slender figure waiting for

him.

Elena. He changed his shoes and walked to the

living room. No answer.

He frowned and walked upstairs, pushing open the master bedroom door. The room was

spotless. He walked to the walkin closet and

pulled open the doors.

Elena’s side was empty.

All her clothes, shoes, bags, even her skincare.

products

remained.

gone. Only his expensive suits.

Salvatore’s heart skipped a beat. He spun around

and strode to the vanity.

Three items sat neatly on the surface.

A spare key to the villa. A pair of cufflinks he had

been searching for. And a freshly reprinted divorce

agreement.

Signed: Elena Rossi.

The handwriting cut deep into the page.

Salvatore stared at the document. Irritation

flickered in his eyes. Playing this game twice is just boring.”

He picked up the agreement, about to tear it up

again, when his phone rang.

It was his consigliere, his voice tense. Don, we

have a problem.”

The eastern district new energy project the

partner has suddenly requested a pause on all

progress.”

Salvatore’s eyes sharpened. Why?”

They said Miss Elena was the one handling the

project. Now that she has resigned, they do not

trust the new team we sent.”

Salvatore’s hand tightened around the phone.

What do you mean, she resigned?”

Yes, sir. Miss Elena submitted her resignation

through the internal system last night. The

consigliere swallowed. His voice dropped even

lower.
