The 100 Rules Dating the Male Lead Chapter 03
Bullet comments roasted Caspian in real time: 【Damn, this male lead is trash. He’s still hung up on the female lead but chasing the side chick anyway.】
【And he picks out a red dress for her! The side chick never wears red!】
【He even got the size wrong. She’s getting played for sure.】
Next second, Caspian texts:
【Bought a new dress. Feels like it’d suit you.】
【If you don’t like it, I’ll just give it to your roommate.】
I stared coldly at the screen.
Seraphina got one thing right.
Men need to be trained like dogs.
That night, I wrote out a hundred-item boyfriend rule list and sent it over.
【I agree to date you. Screw up and we’re done.】
【1. Don’t mention other guys/girls in front of me. That includes your mom.】
…
【97. Don’t hit back if I hit you. Don’t ever hit your girlfriend.】
【98. No tongue without my permission.】
【99. Learn what I like in bed beforehand. No rough stuff.】
【100. If we break up, don’t share our private convos with anyone. Keep up my good girl image.】
Then I added: 【Almost forgot. Seraphina’s got a new guy, some underclassman. If you’re not down, just delete me.】
【My time’s valuable too.】
【Don’t worry, I’ll make you look good in public while we’re dating.】
Caspian stared at the screen, dumbfounded. What kind of dictatorship is this?
No way he’d agree to that.
He paced around, annoyed. Even Seraphina never dared to pull this on him.
Rule 58: Break up if he doesn’t reply within a minute.
This is ridiculous, right?
Caspian stared at his phone in disbelief, his handsome face turning green with anger.
I put on the red dress, found a good angle, and sent him a selfie.
【Bust is too small, size is wrong, and I don’t like the color. Memorize my measurements. Also memorize those 100 rules above. Quiz tomorrow.】
One minute passed. No reply.
I deleted him.
Caspian had just finished reading the rules.
He scrolled to the end and suddenly got hit with a blatantly tempting photo.
The girl in the pic rarely took off her glasses, and the red dress made her pale skin pop, but her expression was still cold and aloof.
His heart skipped a beat.
After two months of getting the cold shoulder, suddenly seeing that picture was… surprisingly thrilling.
He touched his nose and texted back, 【Fine.】
He’d agree for now. Once they were dating, he could just smooth things over, right? No way Elowen would actually treat him that badly.
Then Caspian saw a red exclamation mark next to their chat.
System alert: 【You are no longer friends with this user.】
Caspian cursed under his breath, gritting his teeth. “She actually fucking deleted me.”
After Caspian re-added me last night, he made a reservation at a Michelin-starred restaurant and said he’d introduce me to his friends soon.
Bullet comments swarmed: 【Lmaooo the male lead actually followed the rules and showed up fifteen minutes early to wait for her.】
【Yo, it’s almost time for the date, why isn’t the side chick even wearing makeup?】
【She’s such a hypocrite. He has to be flawless from head to toe, but she shows up looking like she just rolled out of bed.】
【Hey, he’s the one who made the bet. He can take it.】
I timed it perfectly and found Caspian waiting outside my dorm with major bags under his eyes.
He’d even put on a little bit of foundation to hide his crappy complexion.
He stared at me, looking a bit annoyed.
He couldn’t help but complain, “This is how you dress for our first date? You don’t care about me at all!”
Shouldn’t she have put in some effort before leaving?
I replied calmly, “Rule twenty-three.”
Caspian answered confidently, “Everything from food to clothes to travel must be according to the girlfriend’s preferences.”
“Relax, it’s only a thousand words. I memorized it in one night.”
“I got it right, didn’t I?”
I nodded and cut him off flatly, “I don’t like Michelin-starred restaurants.”
“Seraphina likes going to those places.”
Caspian’s smile froze on his face, and guilt flashed in his eyes.
Just then, Seraphina came down the stairs.
Bullet comments popped up: 【See? The female lead totally still cares about the male lead. Why else would she be tracking the side chick’s movements?】
【She specifically set up a date with her new guy hoping the male lead would see and get jealous.】
【They’re both secretly testing each other’s feelings, but they’re too stubborn to admit it.】
【Is the side chick gonna reject him again? She’s so high-maintenance. No wonder when she finally tries to make up with him, he says no. The guy’s all about his pride; getting rejected in front of the girl he actually likes would make him hate her for sure.】
I frowned.
Caspian saw it and assumed I was about to ice him out again, his eyes getting anxious.
Like the comments said, he was at his breaking point.
I let my gaze wander over Caspian’s sharp, model-like face for a bit, then decided to cut him some slack.
Seraphina naturally said hi, but her eyes were only on Caspian: “Fancy meeting you here to pick up your girlfriend?”
She knew Caspian and I weren’t actually together, that he was just lying to his friends to save face.
I didn’t plan on calling him out on his lie.
Instead, right in front of a stunned Seraphina, I stood on my tiptoes and kissed Caspian on the cheek.
