Stealing My Kid’s Gourmet Lunch for $10 Chapter 08

Stealing My Kid’s Gourmet Lunch for $10 Chapter 08

That afternoon, Sunnybrooks Kindergarten received an official notice from the Department of Education, ordering them to suspend all operations immediately until further notice.

Henry and Nicole were not only stripped of their teaching licenses for negligence and covering up a criminal assault, but they were also hit with severe legal penalties.

On Northstar Capital’s end, Ryan moved quickly to clean up the mess and appease my wrath.

Trevor’s dirty laundry was aired out, and with embezzlement totaling over ten million dollars, he was looking at a prison sentence of at least a decade.

As for Ashley, her deliberate assault on a child, coupled with the flood of victims stepping out of the woodwork to kick them while they were down, landed her a three-year sentence.

All of their assets were seized by the court to pay off their debts.

Their spoiled, arrogant son, Cody, was shipped off to a rural town to be raised by his elderly grandmother.

The parents’ group chat was disbanded after the incident.

I heard that the fair-weather parents who had cheered Ashley on were now running around like headless chickens, desperate to find a new school after the kindergarten’s sudden closure.

A few of them even tried to pull strings to get a hold of me, begging for my forgiveness and hoping I could slot their kids into one of the private schools under my company.

I simply sneered and had my assistant block every single one of them. They were all adults. They needed to pay the price for their words and actions.

And since they all played stupid games, they all got to win stupid prizes.

Two weeks later, I stood with Sophie right outside the gates of the most prestigious private academy in Jevron. From its elite faculty to its top-tier security systems, this institution was second to none.

More importantly, the chairperson sitting at the top of the school board was me.

The principal personally greeted us at the gate, his demeanor respectful without being overly flattering.

“Ms. Reed, we’ve made the arrangements for Ms. Sophie’s classes. She’ll be in the best micro-class program, and

all of her meals have been customized according to your requirements.”

I nodded and held Sophie’s hand as we made our way onto campus.

Sunlight fell across Sophie’s smiling face. Her injuries had completely healed, and those clear eyes of hers had regained their usual spark.

“Mommy, it’s so pretty here!” Sophie said excitedly, pointing at the castle-like buildings in the distance.

I gently ruffled her hair. “If you like it here, how about you go to school here from now on?” I asked.

Sophie nodded vigorously.

Seeing her so happy lifted my spirits, every single ounce of weight leaving my chest for good.

I knew that this world would always be full of self-important bullies who liked to use whatever little power they had to stomp on others.

But I wasn’t going to waste my time trying to change them. I would simply use absolute power to rip them and their puppet masters out by the roots and obliterate them.

On the way back to the company, my assistant sat in the passenger seat, giving me the final update.

“Ms. Reed, the last property under Trevor’s name went througli á foreclosure auction this morning. His family has nothing left now, and they’re still several million dollars in debt. Ashley’s having a rough time behind bars too. Word is, she’s drowning in regret.”

I watched the city streets flash past the window, my eyes calm. “Got it. This matter ends here. You don’t need to brief me on them ever again.”

Trash belonged in the dumpster. They weren’t worth another second of my energy.

The car pulled smoothly into the headquarters’ underground parking lot.

I pushed the door open and stepped out, my high heels clicking against the pavement as I walked toward my private elevator. Each step radiated my undeniable authority.

I, Madison Reed, never went looking for trouble, but I would never run from it either. Anyone who dared cross my line would pay for it a hundred times over.
