She Married My Stolen Credit Chapter 05

She Married My Stolen Credit Chapter 05

The moment I hit the floor stretched on forever.

I could feel my skull crack open.

Blood poured out.

My heartbeat faded.

So did my life.

Somewhere in the haze, I heard Piper racing my hospital bed down the hall, screaming for the doctors like she’d gone completely feral.

But I was dying.

Dying in the arms of the woman whose love had always been twisted.

Right before everything went dark, Piper dropped to her knees beside my bed.

“Marco! Stay with me! You’re not allowed to die!”

Her eyes were blood–red.

All she could do was beg.

“Don’t close your eyes. Just hold on a little longer. A donor kidney is on the way. I’ll save you. I’ll spend every last dollar my family has if I have to. I’ll make you healthy again. Please… just hang on.

“This is what I owe you…”

The woman who’d always looked down on everyone was now begging me to live like a stray dog.

But I knew the truth.

I wasn’t gonna last much longer.

With only one kidney, my body was already shutting down.

And I’d put myself through every treatment possible just to give us a child.

All those powerful drugs had pushed me way past my limit

And that bowl of black medicine?

That was the final hit.

The fact that I was still breathing at all was a miracle.

Seconds passed.

Then minutes.

No doctor came.

No donor kidney arrived.

And just like that, my last shot at surviving was gone.

“Walter…”

I fought for every breath as I looked at him.

“I don’t… want to see Piper.”

My breathing slowed.

Even keeping my eyes open took everything I had.

Piper froze.

It was like every bit of strength drained out of her.

Walter understood.

He forced her out of the room.

Then, with shaking hands, he gently patted my arm.

Tears filled his cloudy eyes.

“What… do you want to tell me?”

I had almost nothing left.

I barely whispered,

“…the… child…”

Walter grabbed my hand, frowning.

“What? The baby? Didn’t Piper have the abortion behind your back?”

“My child’s… remains… were cooked.”

His eyes went wide.

Shock twisted into crushing grief.

“How…?”

The man who had always stood tall and in control broke down.

“That was the Carlson family’s first great–grandchild. Even if the baby was gone… no one had the right.

“Who did it? What kind of sick monster would do that to our family?”

Piper was the last Carlson heir.

Walter had spent years dreaming of holding his first great–grandchild.

But Elliot got inside Piper’s head, and she secretly ended the pregnancy at four months, after the baby had already formed.

The second I found out, I rushed to the hospital.

All I wanted was to take my child’s remains and give them a proper burial.

But the doctor said they were gone.

They searched the entire hospital.

Nothing.

Then, at dinner, Elliot served me a bowl of chicken soup.

Piper drank it before I could.

That was when I saw the panic in his eyes.

And I knew.

Elliot had mixed my child’s ashes into the soup.

He planned to make me drink it, then tell me the truth and watch me fall apart.

Instead, Piper drank it first.

A mother unknowingly drinking her own child’s ashes…

The truth was enough to shatter anyone.

If Piper ever found out…

She’d lose her mind.

In my last life, because I loved her, Elliot and I both kept that secret from her.

But not anymore.

“Walter… the last of my child’s ashes are in the locket I’m wearing.

“When I’m gone… bury us together.”
