Not All That’s Broken Can Be Fixed Chapter 10

In the end, Mr. and Mrs. Southall eventually retreated in disgrace.

I didn’t stop there, though. I took advantage of the freefall in Southall Group’s stock and kept buying up their shares, and as a result, when Abigail presided over the shareholders’ meeting, the person sitting directly across from her was me.

Abigail stared at me in a daze, utterly lost for words. Ethan and Owen sat to her left and right, glaring at me with pure hatred.

I glanced at Abigail’s slightly swollen belly and sneered, all while Abigail just stared back at me, remaining silent for a long time.

I reminded her coldly, “Please present Southall Group’s current cash flow statement, Ms. Southall.”

Abigail pursed her lips tightly, and under the impatient, scrutinizing gazes of the other shareholders, she forced herself to look away. She caught up to me and stopped me once the shareholders’ meeting wrapped up. “Can I treat you to dinner tonight, Christian?”

She was afraid that I would turn her down, so she added hurriedly, “Your favorite place just added some new dishes to the menu.”

Owen suddenly cried out from behind her. “Ouch! My stomach hurts so much, Abigail!”

Abigail turned around impatiently and slapped him across the face. “You should look for a doctor if your stomach hurts! What do you expect me to do about it?”

Owen said aggrievedly, “I may have eaten something spoiled, so please accompany me to the hospital, Abigail.”

Ethan glared at me fiercely throughout. “I didn’t expect you to have such great fortune, Christian. You actually managed to marry the wealthiest woman in Halport after divorcing Abigail. It seems the schemes of the younger generation pale in comparison to your calculated indifference, Christian.”

I smirked faintly as I said, “You can treat me to dinner, but under one condition.”

Abigail immediately replied with excitement, “I’ll agree to anything you ask, so just tell me what it is,

Christian!”

I pointed at Ethan and said, “I want him standing by the table, waiting on us.”

Ethan instantly shrieked. “That is out of the question! Who the hell do you think you are, ordering me around?”

Abigail slapped Ethan across the face again. “Who the hell do you think you are to talk to Christian like that? You two are nothing but distractions I keep around to keep me amused! You’d better not think for a second that you can usurp his position while he is gone; Christian is the sole man I consider my

husband.”

Raven was already waiting when Abigail and I stepped into the restaurant. She walked over, took my hand with a smile, and asked, “Did you have a tiring day?”

I shook my head, stepped up to embrace her, and replied, “I’m not tired.”

I then pulled out the chair for her with practiced ease.

Abigail trailed us with a grim expression. She looked at me with a wry smile and said, “I thought it was just going to be the two of us for dinner.”

I cocked my brow slightly and said, “I’m a married man. It wouldn’t be appropriate for me to have dinner

alone with another woman.”

Abigail instantly fell silent, knowing exactly that I was mocking her.

Just as we picked up our utensils, Owen suddenly clutched his stomach. “I think I might have appendicitis, Abigail!”

Abigail’s expression darkened considerably. She threw the dish at Owen and barked, “You should stay in the hospital if you’re sick! Why do you insist on following me around?”

Ethan’s eyes turned bloodshot while standing to the side. “You’re carrying our child right now! How can you be so heartless, Abigail?”

“Scram!” Abigail shoved him away in anger. She then turned to me and said, “You should pay them no mind. Let’s get back to our dinner.”

I cocked my brow slightly and waved over a waiter, saying, “Please call an ambulance for this sick

individual.”

Just then, Abigail took a call, and Mr. Southall’s furious voice rang out. “Your behavior has gone too far, Abigail! Owen is the father of your unborn child! You can forget about being the CEO of Southall Group if anything happens to him!”

I merely looked at her with a faint, mocking smile.

Abigail hung up just as the ambulance arrived. She rose to her feet with a sullen expression and said, “I’ll treat you to dinner another time, Christian.”

She grabbed Owen and dragged him out of the restaurant after saying that.

I watched the farce unfold with leisurely amusement, finding the food before me thoroughly enjoyable.
