My Ghost Haunted My Husband for 7 Years Chapter 07
“Reasons?” Edith turned to Philippa, her eyes full of sorrow. “Philippa, don’t you get it by now?”
“He doesn’t have reasons. He just doesn’t want to marry me.”
“Those failed attempts weren’t Louisa’s tricks. It was him. It was Tyler who didn’t want to marry
me.”
With that, Edith turned and walked away.
Tyler didn’t follow.
He stood in the empty City Hall lobby, people staring and whispering all around him. But he couldn’t hear any of it. Couldn’t see any of it.
His mind was filled with only one person-Louisa.
When she’d said, “The truth stands on its own. I never did any of those things,” he’d laughed at her.
Called it pure nonsense.
When she’d said, “You set the license date on October seventh?” he’d dug in his heels and said it was fine, no changes needed.
When she told him how she died, he’d said, “You even died in a stupid way.”
Every single word was a knife-and now they were all buried in him.
“Mr. Harrison…” Daniel ventured carefully. “Should we-”
“Go back.” Tyler cut him off, his voice raw.
“Where?”
“The estate.”
He had to go back. She had to still be there.
She’d hung on for seven years. There was no way she’d just vanished.
Tyler sped all the way back to Harrison Estate, running three red lights.
He shoved the door open. The mansion was empty. Dead silent.
“Louisa.” He called out.
No answer.
“Louisa, come out.” He raised his voice. “I know you’re here.”
Still nothing.
He searched room by room-bedroom, home office, kitchen, balcony. Even the walk-in closet. He
tore through every corner.
Nothing.
She wasn’t anywhere.
He dropped onto the living room sofa, and for the first time, the estate felt terrifyingly huge.
He used to complain about her-always hovering, always drifting behind him, even watching him
shower.
Now there was no one watching, yet cold seeped into his very bones.
“Mr. Harrison…” Daniel stood at the doorway, hesitant. “Miss Price…”
“Let her go.” Tyler kept his eyes closed, his voice exhausted. “Cancel the wedding.”
Daniel was stunned. “Cancel? But your parents…”
“I’ll handle it.
Daniel didn’t dare ask more. He slipped out quietly.
Tyler sat alone for a long time, until the sky went dark.
He pulled out his phone and scrolled to a number he hadn’t called in years-that psychic.
The line rang forever before picking up.
“Good evening,” Tyler’s voice was tight. “How do I bring back a soul that’s already dissipated?”
The psychic was silent on the other end for a long while, then finally spoke slowly. “Mr. Harrison.
When a soul dissipates, it’s gone for good.”
“No reincarnation. No rebirth. It simply… ceases to exist.”
Tyler’s fingers clenched so hard his knuckles went white. “That’s impossible.”
“She had such a strong attachment. No way it just… vanished.”
The psychic sighed. “Attachment is a strange thing. It can be as deep as an ocean, or as shallow as a
whisper.”
“Sometimes, a lifetime of resentment can be resolved with just one sentence.”
“Mr. Harrison, she has let go, yet you have taken hold of it instead.”
“That’s your fate.”
