My Ghost Haunted My Husband for 7 Years Chapter 06
Tyler’s eyes flickered, then he let out a scoff. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Just then, someone announced from outside, “Miss Price is here.”
Everyone hurried to the front hall. Tyler turned and walked toward Edith, his voice tense “Are you okay?”
But the next second, Edith’s eyes reddened as she wrenched her hand free from his in front of
everyone.
“Tyler, if you can’t let go of her in your heart, why are you dragging me to the City Hall?”
Tyler’s face went stiff. Philippa rushed forward, trying to grab Edith’s arm. “Edith, what nonsense are you saying?”
Edith’s lips trembled, her voice cracking. “I got an anonymous email this morning. Everyone
should see it.”
“Take a look and all of you will know why the last ninety-nine attempts failed.”
The email was projected onto the white screen in the hall.
It was Tyler’s personal dashcam footage and chat logs with his assistant.
The first time, the car blew a tire. It was Tyler who had sent his assistant to slash it late the night
before.
The second time, they were rear-ended. Tyler had slammed on the brakes on purpose.
Third, the City Hall’s system crashed. Tyler ordered the tech team to hack it.
On the fourth day, torrential rains blocked the roads. The weather forecast had warned of it well in
advance, yet Tyler deliberately picked that route.
Ninety-ninth time, the entire City Hall building lost power. Tyler had someone cut the cables three days early.
All ninety-nine times. He’d done it himself.
Edith’s voice shook uncontrollably. “Tyler, do you even want to marry me?”
Tyler stood there, fingertips ice-cold. He wanted to argue, to say no, but the records were crystal clear, timestamps and all matching perfectly.
He opened his mouth, but no sound came out.
Philippa’s face turned ashen. “Tyler… can you explain it?”
Tyler didn’t answer. His mind was blank, except for one thought circling over and over-Louisa had been telling the truth. She’d never done any of it.
It was him.
All along, it was all him.
He couldn’t admit he didn’t want to marry Edith so he’d shoved every ounce of blame onto a woman
who’d been dead for seven years.
Edith watched him stay silent, and finally the tears spilled over. “I knew it. You never loved me.”
“You’re just used to me being around. Used to everyone saying we were a couple.”
“But the one you’ve always loved is Louisa Carter. You just won’t admit it.”
Tyler’s head snapped up. “That’s not true.”
His voice came out dry and hoarse-so weak even he could hear it.
Edith laughed through her tears. “Not true? Then tell me, why is your safe full of her things?”
“Why do you go to that chapel alone every June eighteenth and sit there all afternoon?”
“Why do you lock yourself in your room every October seventh, and won’t even let me in?”
“Tyler, you can fool everyone else. But you can’t fool yourself.”
Tyler stumbled back a step, hitting the pillar behind him.
June eighteenth was their wedding anniversary.
October seventh was her death anniversary.
He thought he’d hidden it well.
He thought those feelings were just guilt and regret.
But Edith’s words had shattered the shell he’d been hiding behind.
Philippa was still muttering beside him. “Edith, don’t overthink this… Tyler must have his
reasons…”
