Luna’s Goodbye to Her Deceitful Alpha Chapter 09

Luna’s Goodbye to Her Deceitful Alpha Chapter 09

One year later.

William and I held a grand bonding ceremony on

Evernight Grove territory.

We invited leaders from every major pack. So

many pack members came to give us their sincere

blessings.

As we marked each other, something caught the corner of my eye. Behind a thorn bush, halfhidden behind the trees, stood a familiar figure.

It was Sebastian. He was thin beyond recognition.

Gaunt. Hollow. Like a hopeless ghost.

My heart didn’t waver.

Our eyes met for one second. Then I turned back to William, my mate, without a shred of doubt.

I met his warm gaze, and my heart swelled with

love and hope.

William slid a simple platinum band onto my

finger.

It had no flashy moonstone. But it had more

weight than anything Sebastian had ever sent me.

It made me feel safe.

We kissed as the pack members cheered, declaring ourselves mates before everyone.

On the other side, Sebastian watched it all.

He saw the happiness on my face. Unconcealed.

Unashamed. He saw the adoration in William’s

eyes. He saw the quiet understanding between us -a language that needed no words.

Every smile I gave. Every look I shared with

William. It all cut into him like a knife, tearing him

apart piece by piece.

Finally, he understood.

It was over.

He hadn’t lost me. He had killed the Nicole who

loved him. With his own hands.

And then he was forced to watch her rise from the

ashes in another Alpha’s arms.

The world he had blown up for one year of

socalled freedomcould never be rebuilt.

He turned and stumbled away like a puppet with

its strings cut.

As for Logan, his partner in crime? He got kicked

out of the pack medical center. His reputation was

ruined.

The other pack members? After that scandal, their

mates abandoned them. Their oncenormal, happy

lives turned into a muddy mess.

Time passed.

William and I built a beautiful family together. I

gave him two pups. A boy and a girl.

I helped William protect and care for the weaker wolves in the pack. The pack members loved me

for it.

My life was full. Happy.

And Sebastian? He became a lone rogue wolf.

Every year on my birthdaythe day that was supposed to be our bonding dayhe sat alone in

the dark. He watched the videos of us when we

were in love. Before he lost his memory.Over

and over again.

Ten years after bonding with William.

The two pups were playing happily in the pack house. Our family was getting ready to leave for

Crescent Shores.

William’s Beta came to give us news. Stonevein

Pack, after losing their Alpha and watching their

strength plummet, had no choice but to disband.

That afternoon, I got a message from an unknown

number. It was Logan.

He was working as a pack doctor in some remote

pack land now.

The message was short. He’s gone. A rogue pack

attack. He didn’t make it.”

I stared at that message for a long time.

No sadness rose in my chest. No satisfaction

either. Just a quiet, settled calm.

The last ghost of my past had finally faded away.

I looked out the window. My children were chasing

each other in the garden. Their laughter was clear

as bells.

William came up behind me. His arms wrapped

around my waist. His chin rested gently on my

shoulder.

What is it?he asked, his voice soft.

I leaned back into his warm embrace. That solid

embrace had been my safest harbor for ten years.

I shook my head. Turned my face to his. Pressed a

kiss to his lips.

Nothing,” I said. I was just thinkingI’m lucky I

found you.”

Outside, the sun was shining. My children were

laughing.

The storms I once thought would drown me? They

were nothing more than passing clouds.
