Luna’s Goodbye to Her Deceitful Alpha Chapter 08
Then they all started denying it repeatedly,Â
panicked and stammering.Â
“Th–this is photoshopped! Nicole, you viciousÂ
bitch, you set us up!”Â
But the photos were too high–resolution. TheÂ
timestamps were too clear. Their excuses fell flat,Â
weak and pathetic.Â
I delivered the final blow with a light touch.Â
“Brenda’s pup? None of them wanted to takeÂ
responsibility for it. So they came up with thisÂ
whole plan to make you ‘lose your memory‘ andÂ
then conveniently push her onto you. They wantedÂ
you to think the pup was yours.”Â
“Then, when you ‘got your memory back; the deedÂ
would be done. You’d have to accept the pup asÂ
your own blood just to save face as an Alpha.”Â
Sebastian locked his gaze on the pack membersÂ
he had once trusted with everything.Â
The betrayal was absolute.Â
He let out an animalistic roar and lunged.Â
The scene spiraled out of control instantly.Â
The elegant French bistro turned into a chaoticÂ
arena.Â
Fists. Bottles. Plates. Chairs.Â
Everything they could grab became a weapon.Â
Pack members who were supposed to protectÂ
each other now fought like mortal enemies,Â
tangled in a brawl.Â
William shielded me and got me out of there theÂ
second the chaos started.Â
When we stood in the crisp Paris night, I took oneÂ
last look back.Â
Sebastian–once the untouchable Alpha–had hisÂ
suit ripped to shreds. His face was covered inÂ
blood. He was pinned to the ground.Â
His eyes found mine. Desperate. Begging.Â
Soon, news spread through every pack likeÂ
wildfire. “The Alpha of Stonevein Pack brawledÂ
with his own pack members on Evernight GroveÂ
territory.” It became a joke among wolvesÂ
everywhere.Â
Sebastian and his crew slunk back to StoneveinÂ
Pack with their tails between their legs.Â
On the way back from the restaurant, William came to a stop under a streetlamp.Â
He looked at me. There was something in his eyes I had never seen before. A hint of vulnerability.Â
“Nicole,” he ventured carefully, “are you… only with me to get back at him?”Â
I reached out and gently cupped his face. I looked deep into his eyes, completely sincere.Â
“William, I’m not a piece of trash like Sebastian. I would never use someone’s real feelings to getÂ
what I want.”Â
I took a deep breath. I’was going to be completelyÂ
honest with him.Â
“I admit it. At first, I was running away. You took me into Darkmoon Pack when I had nothing left. You were like a light in my darkest hour. But nowÂ
I held his gaze. “I’m walking toward you. On purpose. With everything I have.”Â
A slow, brilliant smile spread across his face. ItÂ
chased away every ounce of his doubt.Â
He pulled me into his arms. Tight. Warm. Solid.Â
“I’ve been waiting for you,” he said. “From theÂ
moment you asked to join Darkmoon Pack. TheÂ
first time I saw you, I knew you were going to beÂ
my one and only mate.”Â
The days that followed were healing. And new beginnings.Â
When Sebastian got back, the Wolf Council elders.Â
tore into him. In the end, they stripped him of hisÂ
Alpha title and banished him from the pack.Â
The scandal caused an uproar across every pack.Â
Stonevein Pack’s strength plummeted. TheirÂ
reputation was completely destroyed.Â
Sebastian started blowing up my phone.Â
Every message was the same. Apologies. EmptyÂ
vows of love. Hollow promises.Â
I didn’t read a single one. I blocked himÂ
everywhere.Â
One day, a package arrived from Sebastian.Â
Inside was a moonstone ring engraved with aÂ
mark.Â
There was a handwritten card attached: [Nicole, IÂ
was wrong. Please come back to me. My lifeÂ
means nothing without you.]Â
I sent it back. Unopened.Â
I added one thing, though. A postcard. On theÂ
back, I had written: [I’ve found my new beginning. IÂ
hope you find yours too.]
