Listening to My Unborn Baby, I Became the Elite Darling Chapter 08
Vivian froze after being shouted at by Julian.
Eleanor shook her head in disappointment.
“Vivian, I never imagined your kindness and understanding were all an act. I truly misjudged you.”
Then she took my hand firmly and turned toward the servants.
“Clara is the mother of my future grandchild,” she declared coldly. “As for anyone who sided with Vivian earlier, pack your things and get out of the Sterling estate today. Since you admire the Ashford family so much, maybe you should go work for them instead.”
Her commanding tone terrified the servants who had mocked me moments ago.
Several of them dropped to their knees on the spot.
Still furious, Eleanor turned to complain to Alistair.
“If Julian’s father wasn’t overseas right now, would outsiders really dare behave this way in our
home?”
Alistair nodded repeatedly in agreement.
Especially after seeing how quiet and composed I’d remained through everything, his opinion of me improved dramatically.
“Vivian,” he said gravely, “I treated you like my own granddaughter out of respect for my friendship with your grandfather. But if you hurt my real family, don’t blame me for forgetting old
ties.”
Coming from Alistair Sterling, those words carried enormous weight.
Vivian bit her lip resentfully, but in the end, she could only stay silent.
Honestly, Eleanor had already done far more for me than I could’ve hoped for.
But my baby was still completely obsessed with making Julian suffer before winning me back.
To help make it happen, the little troublemaker suddenly kicked me hard inside my womb.
[Mom, I’m sorry! I’m doing this for your own good!]
The powerful kick sent a sharp pain tearing through my stomach.
I cried out before everything went black.
Normally, my health wasn’t this fragile.
But I’d just undergone amniocentesis the day before, stayed awake all night, and endured nonstop
emotional stress thanks to Vivian.
With my body already at its limit, the violent movement from the baby became too much for me to
handle.
As consciousness faded, I vaguely felt myself being pulled into a warm embrace.
Through my blurry vision, I thought I saw panic all over Julian’s face.
He held me tightly, veins bulging at his temples as he shouted,
“Call an ambulance now! Vivian, if anything happens to Clara or the baby, I will never forgive you!”
Even Eleanor, who was usually calm and elegant, was wiping away tears anxiously.
“I told you the procedure would hurt her body!” she cried. “She never should’ve done it! Julian, how could you let this happen? Why didn’t you stop her? Why didn’t you stand up and say you trusted Clara from the beginning?”
“If you hadn’t kept indulging Vivian and letting her create all this chaos, Clara never would’ve suffered like this!”
Every word drove Julian deeper into guilt.
Right before I completely lost consciousness, I heard my baby giggling proudly inside my
womb.
[Hehe. The wife-chasing regret arc is officially guaranteed now!]
