Listening to My Unborn Baby, I Became the Elite Darling Chapter 04

Listening to My Unborn Baby, I Became the Elite Darling Chapter 04

According to my baby, in the previous timeline, I had rejected the Sterling family over and over again. I had even called them bloodsucking capitalists to their faces.

That was why Eleanor Sterling had disliked me from the very beginning. She had personally brought Julian’s first love, Vivian Ashford, back to the country to compete with me.

But this time, I played the perfect future daughter-in-law.

I stayed agreeable, easygoing, and never caused trouble for the Sterlings. Eleanor got along with me so well that she had no interest in meddling with some old flame from Julian’s past.

After that, she accompanied me to every prenatal appointment.

The baby in my belly cooperated unusually well too. Every time we did an ultrasound, she positioned herself perfectly and even waved her tiny arms at her grandmother through the screen.

The doctors could not stop praising her.

“I’ve never seen such a well-behaved baby. Her position is textbook perfect. The mother’s delivery will probably be incredibly smooth.”

“And look at how responsive she is already. This little girl is going to be brilliant when she grows up.”

Eleanor was absolutely delighted.

After every appointment, she dragged me on luxury shopping sprees. The second she saw something expensive or pretty, she wanted to buy it for me.

Meanwhile, the baby warned me that Tiffany was planning to pin the scandal about Julian being drugged on me out of jealousy.

To protect myself ahead of time, I took advantage of how close I had become with Eleanor and repeatedly reminded her, “You need to find the people who drugged Mr. Sterling as soon as possible. I’m worried they might try to hurt him again.”

The more concern I showed for Julian, the more Eleanor adored me.

Under Eleanor’s meticulous styling, I transformed completely. Designer clothes, custom jewelry, luxury handbags. Even my parents barely recognized me when they saw me.

Originally, the pregnancy was supposed to stay secret.

But Eleanor was far too high-profile.

Before long, the entire upper class circle of Kairos was buzzing with rumors that Julian Sterling was about to get married and become a father.

Even the old gossip about him being infertile disappeared overnight.

Julian never publicly addressed the rumors, but he started visiting me more often.

One day, he showed up while I was making homemade chicken noodle soup.

He stood in the kitchen silently, watching me without saying a word or leaving.

Quickly catching on, I ladled him a bowl. “If you don’t mind simple food, try some. I made this batch lighter than usual. It should suit your taste.”

Julian took a sip with his usual indifferent expression.

Then he paused.

And took another sip.

Apparently, he liked it.

The two-hundred-thousand-dollar private culinary course had definitely been worth the money.

After that, Julian came by even more frequently.

Meanwhile, my baby was busy trying to “lose weight” inside my stomach while fantasizing about the future.

[At this rate, as long as Dad’s first love doesn’t suddenly come back, Mom’s totally going to win Dad over.]

Unfortunately, fate clearly enjoyed ruining my peace.

The moment I stepped outside one afternoon, a glamorous woman dressed head-to-toe in designer brands blocked my path.

She looked me up and down arrogantly. “So you’re the slut who seduced Julian into bed?”

Before I could even get a good look at her face, the baby screamed in my head.

[Oh no! Vivian Ashford is here!]

[The unattainable first love is always the deadliest kind. How is Mom supposed to compete with her?!]
