Listening to My Unborn Baby, I Became the Elite Darling Chapter 02

Listening to My Unborn Baby, I Became the Elite Darling Chapter 02

Julian finally looked satisfied.

Carefully, I asked, “If you don’t mind, Mr. Sterling… could I rent a place closer to you? It would probably make it easier for the Sterling family to monitor the baby’s development.”

Julian frowned as he looked around my tiny apartment.

His gaze eventually dropped to my stomach.

“Pack your things. You’ll move into the villa next to mine. My mother will want to see you regularly.”

Then he leaned casually against the doorway and patiently waited while I packed.

Even standing there silently, he radiated the kind of power and elegance that made my heart race.

I gently rested a hand over my stomach and made a silent promise.

This time, Mom’s going to give you everything.

You’ll never go hungry. Never be cold.

I’ll make sure you grow up as the happiest little princess in the world.

That very afternoon, I moved my few shabby belongings into a luxurious estate that looked like it belonged in a movie.

Julian gave instructions in his usual detached tone.

“You’ll visit the designated hospital once a week. The best medical team in the country will oversee your pregnancy.”

Lying on a bed that probably cost more than my parents’ house, I pinched myself hard.

So this wasn’t a dream after all.

I let out a satisfied sigh, already imagining my future of sleeping, eating, and living stress-free for the next several months.

Then the baby started complaining again.

[Seriously? I thought Mom finally got smarter.]

[If she keeps stuffing herself and gains a ton of weight, the Sterling family will look down on her. And Dad’s first love will mock her nonstop.]

I sat bolt upright.

Excuse me?

If my daughter was this ambitious already, then I couldn’t afford to slack off as her mother.

I immediately signed up for elite prenatal yoga and fitness programs online, then hired a professional nutrition team to manage my meals.

If I was going to survive in billionaire society, I needed more than just a healthy body.

I needed the right image too.

I used to be hopeless when it came to fashion and beauty.

But now?

I had money.

So I hired celebrity stylists, makeup artists, and image consultants.

Professional problems required professional solutions.

The baby cooperated surprisingly well too.

When I slept, she slept.

When I exercised, she stayed calm.

Not only did I avoid the usual pregnancy symptoms, but my complexion improved more every day.

Two weeks later, Julian saw me again.

His eyes visibly lit up for half a second.

But he quickly masked the reaction and frowned.

“Don’t misunderstand. What happened between us was an accident. Your only responsibility is delivering the baby safely. Don’t start expecting anything more.”

The baby snorted.

[He’s such a liar.]

[Mom’s literally the first woman Dad’s ever touched. Of course he’s interested.]

I smiled faintly, calm and distant.

“You’re overthinking things, Mr. Sterling. I have no unrealistic expectations. I just don’t want my child to be embarrassed by her mother.”

Julian studied me carefully.

Suspicion lingered in his eyes, mixed with something dangerously close to admiration.

Pretending not to notice, I lowered my gaze.

Honestly, handling a man like him wasn’t that hard.
