Left in a Horror Game, Adopted by the Boss Chapter 05
The white light on the altar died instantly.
Lily collapsed to the floor and scrambled behind Mom.
The players who had followed them recognized the final boss, Lord Corvus. Their legs gave out, and they dropped to the ground, begging for their lives.
But Daddy ignored every single one of them.
He looked at my transparent fingers, then pressed his palm to my chest and reignited the dying
core.
Warmth flooded through me. My broken bones slowly knitted back together.
Then he saw the puncture wounds on my arms and legs, and his expression turned terrifyingly
dark.
The chains around me cracked and shattered into dust in the blink of an eye.
The S-rank collar Dad had locked around my neck hit the ground, and the system let out a piercing
alarm.
[Item user has harmed a minor player under the guise of guardianship. The user will suffer tenfold

Dad screamed and clawed at his neck as a ring of black bruises swelled beneath his skin.
I ran to Lord Corvus, wrapped my arms around his neck, and burst into tears. “Daddy, they also
want to carve out your heart.”
The red glow in Lord Corvus’s eyes flared even brighter. Black mist formed into blades and hovered
over the three of them.
Dad stumbled back but still forced out, “Nora is my flesh and blood. I can discipline my own kid.
That’s none of your business, you dungeon monster.”
“You’ve kept her trapped here for three years. I haven’t even settled that score with you.”
Mom nodded frantically and reached toward me, crying.
“Nora, Mom knows you’ve been hurt.”
“Come here. We’ll take you home.”
I buried my face against Daddy’s chest and didn’t move.
Mom’s hand froze in midair. Embarrassment flickered across her face.
“Are you seriously going to turn your back on your own parents? All for a monster?”
Lily looked at me with those big, tearful eyes.
“Nora, Mom and Dad have missed you every single day.”
“Stop throwing a tantrum.’
I looked at the black cloak on her shoulders, and something sharp twisted in my chest.
She stole my things, shed a few tears, and somehow I became the one at fault.
Lord Corvus moved his fingers slightly. Black mist wrapped around Lily’s neck and lifted her off the
ground.
“You touched what belongs to her, and now you’re telling her to apologize.”
“You humans really are something else.”
Mom screamed and lunged forward, but the black mist hurled her back to the ground.
I tugged at my father’s collar and whispered,
“Don’t kill them yet.”
A smug gleam flashed in Dad’s eyes. He thought I still couldn’t stand to lose them.
I lifted my head from Lord Corvus’s chest and asked, calm and level, “You said you looked for me
for three years, but after walking into this dungeon, you never once asked if I was okay.”
“The first thing you did was demand I lead you. Then you tried to rip out my talent.”
Mom’s face went pale. She stammered and couldn’t get a single word out.
The people watching the dungeon’s livestream kept asking the same question-if they really came to find their daughter, why did the team’s quest say “Hunt the Boss”?
The team leader panicked and pulled out the quest contract.
The bottom line of the contract was clear: Once Nora is located, restrain her on sight. Talent extraction is authorized if necessary.
Nom lunged to tear it up, but the livestream camera had already caught every word.
Dad snapped, “This is all because you wouldn’t listen.”
“If you had just handed over the Boss’s heart from the start, you wouldn’t have suffered at all.
The livestream chat went completely silent.
Lord Corvus raised his hand, and the entire castle rumbled with the sound of turning machinery
“Since none of you think you did anything wrong…”
“Then let’s go back to the test server from three years ago and see what really happened.”
