I Hid the Don’s Son for Three Years Chapter 06

I Hid the Don’s Son for Three Years Chapter 06

When I saw Luca standing in front of me, saying those words, my heart ached

How had these years gone? I went to prenatal

checkups alone. When Johnny was born, the pain

was so bad I bit down on a towel and just got

through it

Later, he grew up. He learned to walk, to talk

When people asked about his dad, he said, I have

Mom. That’s enough.”

He wasn’t pretending he didn’t need a dad. He just

didn’t want me to be sad

I looked down. Johnny was so small back then

but he was already protecting me

The living room went quiet for two seconds

Just as Old Don was about to speak, an assistant

hurried in and whispered in his ear

Old Don’s expression changed. He looked up

sharply at Luca. You bought up all the family

shares?”

Luca smiled. I own the company now. This house

is mine to lead. The wedding will happen the

biggest one possible. I don’t need anyone’s

permission.”

Just then, there was a noise at the door

Rebecca walked in, holding the hand of a boy

about four years old

She walked straight to us and knelt

The boy stumbled beside her and knelt too

staring wideeyed at the adults

Rebecca’s voice cracked. I’ve worked for this

family for years. I never asked for a title. I never

thought of myself as an outsider.”

She looked down at the bewildered boy. I don’t

mind just being a nanny here. Even though this

child isn’t bloodrelated, I’ve always thought of him

as Luca’s and mine.”

The boy patted her hand. Mom,” he whispered

Old Don turned his head slightly

The Donna walked over, bent down, and helped

Rebecca up. Silly girl, get up first.”

She held her hand tight. In my heart, you’ve always been like a daughter. No matter what

happens, there will always be a place for you in this family. Stay here. Don’t go anywhere.”

Tears rolled down Rebecca’s cheeks. She leaned

on the Donna’s shoulder

Old Don sighed. I don’t care who you marry, Luca. But Rebecca stays in this house. That’s nonnegotiable.”

Rebecca lowered her head, the corners of her

mouth turning up slightly

But early the next morning, Luca had already packed

He took my hand and said calmly, We’re moving out.”

The Donna stood up from the table. Why? Did she say something to you?”

Rebecca blinked. Luca, are you misunderstanding me?”

Luca ignored them and led me outside

At the door, he stopped and turned to me

From now on, anyone or anything that makes you

uncomfortable will disappear from your life.

mean it.”

I stared at him blankly.
