His Stallion Was Hers, But the Plains Had Other Choices Chapter 10

Maybe it was a coincidence. Maybe they did it just to annoy me.

Chloe and I ended up with our weddings on the same day.

Her feet still weren’t fully healed. Watching her get helped down the aisle by two people was almost

funny.

Our wedding car passed her on the way. I waved. “Congrats. You finally got what you wanted.”

Dylan’s head turned toward me automatically.

Chloe lost it. Red-eyed, she screamed at him. “You’re still thinking about her, aren’t you!”

“You jerk! Then why did you agree to marry me?”

In front of everyone, Dylan had to grovel. “I wasn’t. I just happened to look up.

Chloe didn’t calm down. She got worse.

Dylan begged for a minute, then lost his patience.

“Are you done? How many people do you want to laugh at us?”

Chloe froze.

In her memory, Dylan had never talked to her like that.

Everything had changed in just a few months.

But she knew she couldn’t go back now. She wiped her tears silently.

“Fine. I won’t make a scene. But you don’t get to look at Tessa anymore.”

Dylan nodded. That was that.

I rolled up my window and grinned so hard my eyes crinkled.

Caleb squeezed my fingers. “That happy?”

I nodded like a pecking chicken. “Seeing them miserable makes me happy.”

“Caleb, does that make me a bad person?”

That’s all.”

He shook his head. “After what they did to you? This is nothing.”

I gave him a confused look, so he explained.

“That morning when you overheard Dylan… I was there too.”

He cleared his throat quickly. “Not on purpose. I just happened to be feeding my horse.”

“You were standing by my stall the whole time, and you fed him too. I didn’t want to interrupt.”

It clicked.

That basket of grass was the reason Caleb’s horse was so friendly to me the first time we met.

The unwritten rule might not be written anywhere. But it makes sense.
