He Spoiled Me for Three Years… Because I Look Like the Woman He Couldn’t Have Chapter 03

The woman’s voice drifted out from the speaker, heavy with a lazy, sated satisfied.

“Thank you for remembering I love pink diamonds. And I like strawberry lubricant. Next time, don’t bring the wrong kind. ”

The pink diamond bracelet Callum had bought for me at an auction last year for an outrageous price.

So that had been for Elowen too.

He reached his hand toward me.

“The quality of that bracelet wasn’t good enough anyway. Tomorrow, I’ll have my assistant find you a better one to make it up to you.”

I stood up.

“Callum, I want a divorce.”

The moment he heard those words, he grabbed my wrist.

He did not squeeze hard, but his eyes instantly turned cold.

“Stop making a scene. I don’t like it when you act like this.”

“If you leave me, where exactly do you think you’re going? Back to that vulgar ex-husband of yours?”

“Let go. Where I go has nothing to do with you.” I stared coldly at the hand locked around my wrist.

Callum’s gaze darkened.

In the end, he slowly loosened his grip.

He took a deep breath, then put on that helpless, patient expression, as if he were tolerating a child throwing a tantrum.

“Sienna, stop being upset. I promise I’ll try to see her less from now on.”

Just then, the private phone in his pocket rang with a special ringtone.

It was the number he had set up for me, the one I was supposed to use if I ever needed him in an emergency.

Callum frowned slightly and swiped frantically to accept the call.

Elowen’s voice came through the line, choked with tears.

“Callum, I’m scared.”

His voice tightened at once.

“What? You cut your hand?”

Without the slightest hesitation, Callum turned toward the door.

“I need to go out. Get some rest.”

“Callum,” I called.

A sudden, heavy pain flared deep in my pelvis, a sharp, dragging cramp that stole my breath.

Instinctively, I pressed a hand to my stomach and reached out to catch the edge of his shirt.

His face filled with impatience.

“Sienna, don’t act jealous right now.”

“She’s in real danger. I have to go.”

He pried my fingers loose one by one.

Then he left without looking back.

I crouched on the floor, cold sweat soaking through my back.

I called 911 and was rushed to the ER alone.

Lying in the hospital bed, I held the thin pregnancy report in my hand and touched my still-flat stomach.

My little one, I’m sorry. You came at the worst possible time.

I clenched my fist.

But since you were here, I would take you with me. I would raise you myself.

I called my divorce lawyer.

After sending over the evidence, I was about to get up and leave.

Then I saw Callum carefully supporting Elowen as they walked out of a private imaging suite.

There was a cartoon Band-Aid on Elowen’s finger.

Callum was speaking to her in a low voice, his expression unbearably gentle.

Elowen lifted her head and met my eyes.

She stopped, then tugged lightly on Callum’s sleeve.

Callum followed her gaze, and his face changed slightly when he saw me.

Elowen pulled free from his hand and walked straight up to me.

She studied my face.

“How nostalgic,” she said softly. “Even I almost forgot this was what I used to look like.”

That casual little sentence hit me like a slap across the face.

She raised her hand, as if she wanted to touch my cheek.

I turned away. “Don’t touch me. I’m not you.”

When I refused her, she slapped me backhanded across the face.

Heat exploded across my cheek. I raised my hand to hit her back.

Callum stepped forward quickly and shielded Elowen with his body.

“Sienna, she’s sick. Don’t stoop to this.”

Without hesitation, I slapped him instead.

He did not get angry.

His eyes fell on the lab report in my hand.

He took it from me and scanned the result.
