From Rejected Omega To The Supreme Luna Chapter 10
Julian POV:Â
“She made a deal,” Carlo said.Â
I looked up. “What?”Â
Carlo produced a parchment with dried blood.Â
“Blood Oath. She agreed to leave forever. In exchange, I annulled the marriage and blocked your trackers.”Â
I stared at the paper. It smelled like cinnamonÂ
and smoke.Â
“You helped her leave?” I growled.Â
“I saved the Pack!” Carlo roared. “You were making a mockery of us! Parading Estelle around while your true Mate rotted.”Â
“Don’t call Estelle that!”Â
“Use your brain, boy!” Carlo stepped closer. “Think back to the fire. Who pulled you out?”Â
“Estelle said-”Â
“Forget what she said! What did you feel?”Â
I froze.Â
The memory. Four years ago. Trapped in theÂ
car.Â
I couldn’t see: But I felt hands. Small hands. Dragging me.Â
I felt skin against mine. Skin that sizzled and popped.Â
Estelle had no scars. Not one.Â
“The burns,” I whispered. “Estelle never had burns.”Â
“Exactly,” Carlo spat. “Ember took the silver. Ember took the pain.”Â
“Oh god,” I gasped. It wasn’t a perfume. It wasn’t magic. It was just me being blind.Â
“It was her. It was always her.”Â
I turned and ran.Â
“Where are you going?”Â
“To find her!”Â
“The Oath!”Â
I shifted. Bones cracked. A massive gray wolfÂ
burst forth.Â
I ran to the city apartment.Â
I burst in.Â
“Julian?” Estelle was unpacking. “The newsÂ
says-”Â
I ignored her. I ran to the bedroom.Â
Her scent was fading. The cinnamon was stale.Â
“Julian, you’re scaring me,” Estelle walked toward me.Â
I sniffed her. Really sniffed her.Â
Perfume. Sweat. And… deception. No Mate pull.Â
Just a stranger.Â
“You,” I growled, shifting back, naked and shaking. “You lied. About the fire.”Â
Estelle paled. “Baby…”Â
“You didn’t save me. You don’t have a singleÂ
scar.”Â
“I healed fast!”Â
“Silver doesn’t heal!” I roared. “Get out!”Â
“But I live here!”Â
“GET OUT!” I smashed a vase against the wall.Â
Estelle screamed and ran.Â
My wolf went feral.Â
I destroyed the room. I wanted to hurt like she hurt.Â
“Ember!” I screamed until my throat bled.Â
The door opened. My father’s guards. Tranquilizer guns.Â
“Take him down,” Carlo ordered.Â
Darts hit my chest.Â
The world spun.Â
I rejected the moon. And now, I live in the dark.
