Eight Years As His Secret Lover, I Married The Top Mafia Don Next Saturday Chapter 08

Eight Years As His Secret Lover, I Married The Top Mafia Don Next Saturday Chapter 08

I leaned back against the velvet sofa and couldn’t help but laugh softly.

A fake bet for a marriage license, a gifted luxury apartment, and now an unexpected pregnancy.

Every piece lined up perfectly, like a script written well in advance.

“What exactly are you trying to tell me?”

“I just thought you should know,” she feigned innocence. “After all, you and Don Moretti once had a history…”

“I have no connection with Slytherin anymore.” I cut her off firmly.

“This is your business with him. Don’t play these childish games to get a reaction out of me.”

Silence fell on the other end of the line. Bella clearly hadn’t expected me to react so coldly.

“I… I won’t bother you again.” She ended the call quickly.

I set my phone aside and closed my eyes.

A month earlier, news of Slytherin having a child with another woman would have broken my heart

completely.

Now, I only felt pure relief.

This woman, this unborn child, all the messy drama between them-none of it would ever trouble me again.

My heart raced on the actual wedding day, though not from nervousness. It was a strange, wonderful sense

of new beginnings.

Eight years as a hidden lover. Just thirty days ago, I’d thought I would never walk down a wedding aisle.

Yet here I stood, moments away from marrying a man who’d loved me faithfully for twelve years.

The makeup artist arrived right on schedule, and Alice showed up soon after, dressed in a champagne-colored maid of honor gown. She looked more nervous than the bride.

“Sabrina, are you nervous?” She fumbled with my veil, her hands shaking.

“Why are you the one shaking? You’re not getting married today.” I teased her gently.

“I’m just so happy for you!” Her eyes grew wet. “My best friend is finally marrying someone who will love you with every piece of his heart.”

I squeezed her hand. “Thank you, Alice.”

“Thank you for standing by me all these years. You never once asked me to give in, even though he’s your

brother.”

Alice wiped away her tears. “Of course I did. You’re my best friend. I’d never let anyone hurt you.”

Manhattan’s night sky glittered with endless lights.

Lucius stood at the front of the ballroom in a perfectly tailored luxury suit, holding a bouquet of flowers and

waiting for me.

I linked arms with my father and stepped slowly down the long red carpet toward him.

Spotlights focused on me, and wedding music filled the air. Every guest rose to their feet and applauded

warmly.

I saw tears glistening in Lucius’s eyes.

This man, feared and respected across Manhattan’s underworld for his ruthless strength, stood at the end of the aisle with trembling lips.

My father placed my hand into Lucius’s grasp, his voice thick with emotion. “Please take good care of my daughter, Sabrina.”

Lucius held my hand tightly and nodded solemnly. “I promise you, Papa. I will.”

He chose to use my family’s familiar way of addressing my father instead of formal titles, which brought a bright smile to my father’s face.

We exchanged wedding rings, and Lucius’s hands stayed steady, but his voice trembled with emotion as he spoke his vows.

“Sabrina.” He stared deep into my eyes. “From this day forward, you will never have to wait for anything

again.”

“I will walk beside you wherever you wish to go.”

“I will support every dream and choice you make.”

“The Gambino family will always stand behind you, as your strength and your safe harbor.”

Thunderous applause erupted throughout the ballroom.

Alice cried so hard her makeup ran down her cheeks.

I smiled, yet tears rolled down my face all the same.

Halfway through the wedding reception, a commotion erupted near the entrance.

Slytherin had arrived.

He came alone, dressed in a crisp formal suit, but his face was deathly pale.

Alice reacted instantly and hurried over to block his path. “Slytherin, what are you doing here?”

“I came to offer my congratulations.” His voice was hoarse and worn. “I’m her former lover, and your brother.

Am I not allowed to wish her well?”

Alice prepared to argue further, but I shook my head at her to let him pass.

Slytherin walked up to me, his gaze locked firmly on my white wedding gown. His Adam’s apple bobbed up

and down repeatedly.

“Congratulations.”

“May I speak to you privately for a moment?” His request drew gasps from all the watching guests.
