Eight Months Pregnant, He Signed For My Death Chapter 06
Caleb’s expression darkened instantly.Â
He turned sharply toward the doctor, his voice low with restrained fury.Â
“What did you just say? Azoospermia? Are you trying to get yourself killed?”Â
The doctor flinched, quickly explaining.Â
“Mr. Vance, I’m not mistaken. Your premarital medical report clearly stated this. Ms. Rhodes never told you? You are indeedÂ
infertile.”Â
At the mention of my name, Caleb froze for a split second.Â
Then he laughed. Not with amusement, but with pure anger.Â
“Vivian Rhodes?” His voice dripped with mockery. “How much did she pay you to put on this little act?”Â
The doctor blinked in confusion. “Mr. Vance, I…”Â
Caleb cut him off, his tone turning icy.Â
“What is this for? To drive a wedge between me and Lexi? Or toÂ
slander her, make me think the baby isn’t mine?”Â
He let out a cold laugh.Â
“Go back and tell Vivian I’m not buying it. Her tricks are soÂ
childish they’re disgusting. If I’m infertile, then what about the child she was carrying? Should I assume that was someÂ
other man’s?”Â
The doctor’s face shifted uneasily. “Mr. Vance, but…”Â
“Enough.” Caleb’s patience snapped. “I only need you to do one thing. Save the child. If anything happens to that baby, none of you will walk away from this.”Â
The doctor’s expression stiffened. He lowered his head.Â
“…Yes, sir.”Â
The emergency treatment resumed immediately.Â
Just then, Caleb’s phone rang.Â
He glanced at the screen. His assistant.Â
“What is it?” he said curtly.Â
On the other end, the assistant sounded panicked.Â
“Mr. Vance, you need to come back to the wedding venue rightÂ
now. Something’s happened.”Â
Caleb frowned. “What is it?”Â
“Those CEOS from the rival companies… somehow they’ve all shown up. And they’re saying they brought you a wedding gift.”Â
Caleb’s face turned cold, irritation flashing in his eyes.Â
“Ignore them. They’re nothing but losers. If they cause trouble, have security throw them out.”Â
He paused briefly, his voice turning indifferent.Â
“Right now, the only thing that matters is Lexi and the baby.Â
Until I know they’re safe, nothing else matters.”Â
The assistant hesitated. “Mr. Vance, but…”Â
“Do as I said.”Â
Caleb was about to hang up when something seemed to occur to him.Â
He went quiet for a moment, then asked in a lower tone,Â
“My wife. Has she admitted her mistake? Has she begged for forgiveness? If she has, send her to the hospital. As long as she agrees to personally take care of Lexi, I’ll let this go.”Â
The assistant hesitated again. “I… I’m not sure.”Â
Caleb frowned, irritation creeping back in.Â
“Forget it. If she wants to be stubborn, let her rot in prison and reflect on what she’s done.”Â
He ended the call, slipped his phone away, and turned toward the emergency room.Â
His hand had just touched the door handle when a voice from inside stopped him cold.Â
“I told you, don’t save this baby!”Â
Caleb froze.Â
Every muscle in his body went rigid.Â
Inside, Lexi’s voice was sharp and impatient.Â
“Are you deaf? I said terminate it! Get rid of this baby, and I’ll give you one million dollars!”Â
Her voice dropped, but the cruelty in it was unmistakable.Â
“This stays between us. Caleb will never find out. When theÂ
time comes, just say Vivian Rhodes attacked me and the baby couldn’t be saved. Simple.”Â
Caleb’s brows tightened.Â
Without hesitation, he shoved the door open.Â
Everyone inside startled.Â
Lexi’s face turned deathly pale, her hand still frozen midair.Â
Caleb stared at her, his voice dangerously low.Â
“What did you just say? What do you mean terminate the baby? If it can be saved, why wouldn’t you want it?”
