Although Kelvin had managed to delete my message exposing his infidelity as soon as I sent it in the neighborhood group chat that day, many of our nosy neighbors were already aware that he had been cheating on me for a long time.
As a result, Kelvin was often the topic of conversation whenever the neighbors gathered together.
An even bigger commotion rippled through the neighborhood after the incident with Jillian and the sulfuric acid that day.
From then on, the neighbors constantly kept a close eye on Kelvin, Jillian, and Maisie, waiting for the next big show.
“There was a huge commotion the day Maisie moved into their home. They were just short of using a megaphone to broadcast to the entire neighborhood that there’s trouble in paradise.
“Maisie arrived in the neighborhood with a truck packed to the brim with her belongings, but Jillian refused to let her into the house and lay in front of the door the entire day. She also shouted about how
she would never let Maisie into the house.
“In the end, they only managed to chase Jillian off after Kelvin whipped her twice with his belt. Only then was Maisie able to move her belongings into the house.”
It was a totally unexpected outcome.
I hadn’t expected Kelvin to raise his hand against Jillian time and time again for Maisie’s sake. In the past, he would always pretend to be blind or deaf to Jillian’s antics. Sometimes, he would even egg her on.
It seemed that Kelvin and Maisie were truly in love with each other.
There was nothing left for me to do but to give them my blessings.
“Here. Watch this video. This happened a week after Maisie moved in with them. Jillian called the police and accused Maisie of abusing her. Several police officers showed up on their doorstep.
“When we saw Jillian, we noticed that she had handprints on her face, and she was missing a couple of teeth. It’s no wonder that people always say that stepmothers are evil people. Maisie has already started abusing Jillian even though they’ve only been living together for a few days…”
I paid close attention to the video.
It was undeniable that Jillian was covered in injuries, but Maisie didn’t look like she was faring too well either.
Her hair, which used to be dark and lustrous, was now short and choppy as if someone had gone to town on it with a pair of scissors. It was obvious at a single glance that Jillian was the culprit.
Maisie cried and complained to the police officers, telling them that Jillian had not only cut all her
clothes into pieces but also left nails in her shoes, leaving Maisie limping for a whole week.
Meanwhile, Jillian clung to a police officer’s leg and wailed about Maisie abusing her.
The neighbors already disliked Maisie. On top of that, they were clueless about the fact that Jillian had the tendency to lie. Thus, they surrounded Maisie and criticized her, eventually causing her to burst into
tears.
In the end, Kelvin had to rush back home to settle the issue. He apologized to the police and flippantly told Maisie off to bring the ridiculous case to a close.
“After that day, we always heard the sounds of arguments and fights coming from the house. As expected, there are no good endings for cheating men. Just take a look at Kelvin. I bet he regrets divorcing you.”
In the video, Kelvin looked gloomy as he stood by the door and smoked.
The door behind him was thrown open, giving a clear view of Jillian and Maisie scuffling with each other.
“I won’t let you get what you want!” Jillian screamed at the top of her lungs. “Every woman who seduces
Daddy must die! Daddy belongs to me and me alone! No one can take him away from me!”
Fresh blood flowed down Maisie’s leg. She grabbed a fistful of Jillian’s hair and ruthlessly slapped her
behind.
“It’s no wonder your mother looks like she’s seen a ghost every time she looks at you. You little beast! Not
only does your own mother hate you, but your father despises you too!
“Did you really delude yourself into thinking that he loves you? I’ll have you know that I’m pregnant with his child. When my baby is born, you’ll be sent away to the sticks!”
Jillian let out an ear-piercing shriek. “You’re lying! How dare you frame Daddy? I’m Daddy’s only
daughter. He would never leave me!”
At the end of the video, Kelvin snubbed out his cigarette with his shoe before he entered the house, slamming the door behind him.
Despite the tightly-closed door, I could hear Kelvin’s furious shouts coming from within the house.
“I would have let Sienna take custody of you if I’d known that you were going to behave like this! I get annoyed just looking at you! When your younger brother is born, I’m going to send you to your
grandmother!”
Susan clicked her tongue and shook her head.
“Not only did he cheat on you, but he’s also going to abandon his own daughter. Jillian’s going to have a tough life from now on…”
It seemed that Susan genuinely felt sorry for Jillian.
Meanwhile, my expression remained indifferent as I closed the chat. To me, it simply looked like Jillian was paying for the consequences of her own actions.
However, based on what was happening in the video, it seemed that Maisie was going to have a difficult
time too.
I didn’t believe for even a second that Jillian would allow Kelvin to send her away so easily. She was ruthless enough to get her hands on a bottle of sulfuric acid. She definitely wouldn’t give up without a
fight.
As expected, I received a call from the police while I was working one day.
“Your daughter has done something terrible, Ms. Breeson. We need you to rush here as soon as possible!”
