Daughter vs Mother: A Love Rivalry from Hell Chapter 07
I was suddenly struck by a realization as Jillian threw a temper tantrum at my feet.
Jillian truly loathed me with every fiber of her being. It seemed that she thought of me as her rival from
the moment she was born. She believed that I was committing a crime against her even if I was just
breathing.
Fortunately, her actions could no longer hurt me.
I shoved her aside and shot a look of disdain at her. “Stop acting like a lunatic around me. I have no
obligation to put up with your antics.”
Jillian wailed loudly as she lay on the floor, calling for Kelvin over and over again.
However, he wasn’t bothered enough to entertain her. He gathered Maisie into his arms and rushed
downstairs when he heard the sound of the ambulance sirens getting closer.
It didn’t take long before the police showed up.
They apprehended Jillian with stern expressions when they noticed the burn marks left behind by the
sulfuric acid.
“Where did you get your hands on something so dangerous? We need you to come with us to the station.
to answer some questions.”
I also tagged along with them to the police station since I was an eyewitness.
I told the police officers everything that had transpired that day, sparing no details. For the first time in my life, I also brought to light the fact that Jillian had seen me as her rival for the longest time.
At first, the police didn’t believe me. They assumed that Jillian had splashed sulfuric acid on Maisie to take revenge for me because I was her biological mother.
But they began to doubt their assumptions when they heard Jillian cursing out both me and Maisie,
screaming that we deserved to die.
I didn’t bother getting into any pointless arguments. Instead, I showed the officers some surveillance
footage that I had saved on my phone.
“This is what my life was like before I divorced Kelvin. Take your time looking through the videos. I hope they’ll help with your investigation.”
The officers fell silent as they watched Jillian call me a shameless slut for attempting to seduce Kelvin in
the videos.
I then made it clear to the police that I wasn’t Jillian’s guardian. Thus, nothing she did concerned me in the slightest. On top of that, she had even tried to hurt me with sulfuric acid that day. I had no plans to
get involved if anything happened in the future.
Jillian was still causing a commotion when I left the police station.
“Did you call my daddy? Tell him to hurry and pick me up! Stop him from staying by his mistress’ side. You have to think of something to separate them as soon as possible!”
She even started shouting at me frantically when she noticed that I was leaving.
“How can you just stand by and do nothing while another woman is stealing Daddy away from you? You
need to think of something to convince Daddy to return to your side! I’ll continue acknowledging you as my mommy if you can separate Daddy from his mistress!”
Jillian was still acting so arrogantly and recklessly, as if she were waiting for me to forgive and tolerate
her unconditionally.
I swept my icy gaze over her and asked, “Have you ever considered the possibility that I have no interest
in acknowledging you as my daughter, Jillian? I hope you live a wonderful life with your new mother
from now on. I hope she’ll be able to tolerate you just as I did in the past.”
Bewilderment flickered in Jillian’s eyes.
“Drop the act, Sienna. Weren’t you determined to take me with you in the past? I know that you can’t bear
the thought of leaving me behind. Hurry and take me with you! Take me to see Daddy!”
I didn’t say a word as I strode away, leaving Jillian with the sight of my indifferent back.
That night, Kelvin sent me a message to berate me.
He was still under the assumption that I was the one who leaked the news to Jillian, giving her enough
time to obtain the bottle of sulfuric acid.
I had grown tired of both Kelvin and Jillian.
I posted all the evidence of Kelvin’s infidelity online before blocking his number. Only then did he shut
his mouth and leave me alone.
Meanwhile, Jillian was too busy wallowing in her sorrow over Kelvin’s second marriage to bother me.
Lady Luck had been smiling down on Maisie that day. The sulfuric acid had only left a small burn mark
on her chest. Her face had remained completely unscathed.
Apparently, Maisie had graciously forgiven Jillian for slighting her. It didn’t take long for her to move in
with Kelvin and Jillian.
I didn’t bother keeping up with what happened after that. I had more pressing matters to dedicate my attention to, like focusing on my career.
One day, a neighbor I used to be close to, Susan Ashford, suddenly contacted me.
“Your ex-husband’s life has been turned upside down ever since he remarried, Sienna. Let me show you. Their family has become the laughingstock of the entire neighborhood.”
