Daughter vs Mother: A Love Rivalry from Hell Chapter 01
“I’m surprised that you changed your mind, Sienna. I thought that you were determined to take Jillian with you,” he said.
My daughter, Jillian Hamilton, burst into the room and started hitting me before I could get a word in.
“I don’t want to go with you!” she screamed. “We’re both women, so I know exactly what you’re thinking! You’re jealous that Daddy spoils me!”
Jillian threw herself into Kelvin’s arms, showing off arrogantly to me. “No one can separate Daddy and me. I’m going to be Daddy’s precious baby for the rest of my life!”
Although Jillian had thought of me as a thorn in her side since she was young, at the end of the day, she was my flesh and blood. That was why I argued with Kelvin for a long time after I found out he planned to remarry immediately after he divorced me in my past life.
Back then, I was determined to win custody of Jillian even if I had to sacrifice a portion of my assets.
Recalling the excruciating pain I suffered when the sulfuric acid burned my skin, I grabbed the divorce agreement and said, “I respect Jillian’s wishes. She can live with you.”
Jillian was stunned by my words.
I was about to sign the divorce agreement when Jillian suddenly snatched it away. “How dare you try to swindle Daddy out of his money when you’re just a divorced woman? How can you be so shameless?
“Daddy, you told me that you were going to use your money to buy beautiful dresses for me. I forbid you from giving the old hag so much money.”
Jillian hugged Kelvin’s leg and began playing coy with him, telling him that a failure of a woman like me didn’t deserve to receive even a single cent from him.
She was still completely in the dark about Kelvin’s infidelity and had no idea that I rightfully deserved the compensation that was worth millions of dollars.
However, Kelvin didn’t explain the situation to Jillian. Instead, he used the opportunity to paint himself in a good light.
“I can’t help being a kind person, and I’m not willing to be too cruel to your mother. I know that your heart aches for me because I worked hard to earn all that money. You really are so thoughtful, my little sunshine.”
I scoffed as I watched Kelvin and Jillian sing praises of each other.
Kelvin was the biggest culprit behind Jillian ending up this way. He never criticized her behavior and tolerated everything that she did unconditionally. As a result, her personality became more and more twisted.
Kelvin took a long time to convince Jillian to leave the room. He turned to look at me and whispered, “Don’t tell Jillian that I’m planning to remarry. I’m worried she won’t be able to accept it for now. I’ll introduce her to her new mother when the time is right.”
Meanwhile, Jillian was relishing in her victory, completely clueless about Kelvin’s plans. She eagerly grabbed my wedding photo and threw it to the ground before stomping on my face in the photo.
“I did it! I finally defeated my rival!”
Any lingering affection I had for Jillian was snuffed out at that moment. I couldn’t help but find her pitiful and ridiculous.
I wondered if she would still be able to smile when she realized that she was about to get a new rival.
Jillian began mocking me when she noticed my gaze on her.
“Are you jealous of me? Daddy’s going to be mine and mine alone from this day on!”
