Bought a Wolf Pup at the Black Market, Found Out His Father Is Alpha King Chapter 13
Chapter 13 Mark and WeddingÂ
That night after I passed the trial, Soren bit theÂ
back of my neck.Â
It wasn’t violence.Â
It was ritual.Â
A werewolf mark–an Alpha biting his Luna’s nape,Â
carving his scent and life into her blood.Â
It hurt.Â
But after that pain came warmth.Â
A fierce rushing warmth, like something inside meÂ
had finally woken up.Â
My bones cracked.Â
My muscles burned.Â
Then-Â
My eyes turned gold.Â
Soren stepped back and looked at me.Â
“Your wolf is back.”Â
I lowered my head.Â
My hands were still human hands.Â
But I could feel her–my wolf.Â
She had slept for six years.Â
Now she was awake.Â
The wedding was held on the night of the fullÂ
moon.Â
The Darkmoon courtyard blazed with torches.Â
Wolves howled, and the sound carried far into theÂ
distance.Â
I wore a white dress.Â
Soren wore black tactical gear, a wolf fangÂ
hanging at his throat.Â
Elder Miriam led the ceremony.Â
“In the name of the moon, and by blood asÂ
witness.”Â
Soren slipped a silver ring onto my finger.Â
A wolf–claw crest was engraved on it–the mark ofÂ
Darkmoon.Â
Juno came with her swollen belly, Finn smilingÂ
right behind her.Â
“Congrats.” Juno punched Soren in the shoulder soÂ
hard he nearly folded.Â
“If you bully her, I’ll be the first one to beat yourÂ
down.”Â
Soren rubbed his shoulder.Â
“Can you go lighter?”Â
“No.”Â
By the time the ceremony ended, I was exhausted.Â
Dylan still had spelling homework to do.Â
His entrance exam for wolf elementary schoolÂ
was next week.Â
“Mom, I’m the future Alpha of Darkmoon. I’mÂ
supposed to lead troops into battle. Do I reallyÂ
need spelling?”Â
“Yes.”Â
“But-”Â
“No buts.”Â
“Dad!”Â
Soren was rubbing my shoulders.Â
At that, he gave a light cough.Â
“Don’t ask me. In this house, your mom makes theÂ
rules.”Â
“Suck–up.” Dylan snorted and squeezed SorenÂ
aside.Â
“Mom, I give better shoulder rubs than Dad. LetÂ
me do it.”Â
I laughed.Â
My phone buzzed.Â
[Unknown Number 1: End of story flowers! Wishing Dylan success on his exam and a healthyÂ
life.]Â
[Unknown Number 2: Wishing the chief and his Luna years and years of peace, fearless and safe.]Â
[Unknown Number 3: May there be no more war,” and may the world stay at peace.]Â
I set down my phone and looked out at the fullÂ
moon.Â
Soren wrapped his arms around me from behind and rested his chin on my shoulder.Â
“What are you looking at?”Â
“The moon.”Â
“Is it pretty?”Â
“Very.”Â
Dylan lifted his head from his workbook and rolledÂ
his eyes.Â
“Can you two stop acting gross in front of me? I’mÂ
still doing spelling.”Â
Without even turning around, Soren said, “Do yourÂ
work.”Â
“You-”Â
“Your mom said no buts.”Â
Dylan huffed, threw his pencil down, then quietlyÂ
picked it back up again.
