Betrayal and Regret: The Donna Lost Her Child Chapter 07

Betrayal and Regret: The Donna Lost Her Child Chapter 07

He had no strength left. He crouched on the ground and broke down, sobbing.

His phone kept buzzing-the private doctor on the way.

When the doctor arrived, they rushed both bloodied bodies onto the plane.

But the child was already gone. His body was cold and beginning to decay.

The doctor sighed heavily and told Ryan to prepare for a funeral.

But Grace still had a pulse. There was still a chance.

So on the private jet, the doctor began emergency treatment.

Ryan stood nearby, staring at Grace without taking his eyes off her for a single second.

But when he thought about the child he’d longed for day and night-now dead-it felt like a piece of Ryan’s

heart had been carved out.

Before the baby was even born, he had already chosen a name.

Every time he passed a baby store while shopping, he couldn’t resist going in to buy a few outfits.

Every time he thought about becoming a father, he’d wake up smiling from his dreams.

He knew the baby was premature and fragile.

But he had an excellent medical team. Even if he brought the baby to the island, he could guarantee the child stayed somewhere safe.

He’d sent a nanny to care for the baby. So why was the child on the beach?

He couldn’t make sense of it. He was about to call the family Consigliere to investigate when the doctor suddenly spoke.

“The patient suffered severe trauma shortly after childbirth. She’s hemorrhaging. Critical condition. She needs a blood transfusion immediately.”

The nurse nearby said worriedly, “But we’re on a plane…”

That’s when Ryan remembered: his blood type matched Grace’s. He was a walking blood bank.

Without hesitation, he stretched out his arm.

“Do it.”

The doctor hesitated.

“But Don Ryan, you’re the sole heir of the Vulture family. We’ll need a large volume of blood. And we’re on a

plane-there are risks-”

Ryan cut him off sharply.

“Cut the crap. One more word and I’ll throw you out to feed the sharks.”

The doctor knew Ryan. Once he decided something, he never changed his mind.

Needle after needle pierced Ryan’s arm.

He closed his eyes and endured.

Finally, when Grace’s body had received enough blood, Ryan collapsed.

It was practically a full blood transfusion.

When he woke again, it was already dark.

Still dizzy and disoriented, he stumbled out and asked the nurse where Grace was.

He was told she was still in the ER.

Ryan’s heart ached for Grace.

He crouched against the wall, sobbing silently, his grief tearing him apart from the inside.

The only way he could release the hatred inside him was to slap his own face-hard.

By the time his face was swollen, the operating room lights finally went off.

He staggered to his feet and rushed over.

The doctor let out a deep sigh, exhausted.

“Donna has been pulled back from the brink.”

“She needs to be transferred to the ICU. How long she stays depends on her condition.”

Ryan nodded over and over. As long as she was alive. Just alive.

But what about the baby?

That child who was already gone-how was he supposed to mourn him?
