After I Learned I Was Going to Be His Ex-Wife Chapter 07

After I Learned I Was Going to Be His Ex-Wife Chapter 07

I had just turned down Zachary’s offer to drive me home when my phone rang.

I was surprised to see the caller ID. It was the housekeeper who came by once a week.

She said Ethan was blackout drunk and she didn’t know what to do.

I rushed home. But I was confused, wasn’t it her day off?

Walking through the entryway, I caught a whiff of perfume.

Jasmine. A scent I didn’t recognize.

So he really did bring the other woman here.

Only the floor lamp was on in the living room. Its dim light fell on Ethan’s troubled face.

He was slumped on the couch. His usual woodsy scent was buried in alcohol.

The corners of his eyes were red from drinking.

Two buttons on his shirt were undone. His collarbone was barely visible, the spot I used to love to bite.

Иooked at him for a long time, feeling sad. This gorgeous, broken-looking husband of mine would soon not be mine anymore.

[The female lead is leaving for an overseas branch, and that’s why he’s drinking, right?]

[Don’t worry. They’ll finally confess their feelings soon. When she realizes how much she loves him, she’ll stay.]

[Why is the ex-wife staring at him? Is she really thinking of jumping him now?]

[Don’t touch him. He belongs to the female lead.]

I rolled my eyes.

I was still his wife. Why couldn’t I touch him?

If they said don’t, I would. So I slapped him across the face.

Ethan frowned and slowly opened his eyes.

Seeing his unfocused gaze, I suddenly felt guilty. “You’ll catch a cold on the couch. Let me get you

some water.”

Then I ran.

Behind me, Ethan’s hoarse voice said. “I want chamomile tea.”

I stopped walking.

Chamomile tea was our secret invitation.

When I put chamomile tea in front of him, he knew exactly what I was inviting him to.

I pretended I didn’t hear that. I just poured him a glass of water.

Ethan held the glass without drinking.

His eyes were dark, looking strangely defeated.

He asked softly, “Did you have fun?”

I bit my lip and looked down. “Yeah.”

He laughed. “Good.”

Éthan stood to go back to his room, but stumbled like he couldn’t keep his balance.

Before I knew it, I’d caught him.

Ethan leaned most of his weight on me. His breath landed softly on my ear.

That spot was sensitive, and my knees went weak.

Ethan’s hot palm pressed against my waist, his thumb rubbing small circles.

I squirmed and let out a moan. “Ethan!”

He took my hand and slipped it under his shirt.

He rested his head on my neck, breathing harder. “Baby…”

His voice hooked into me, tugging at my heart.

But we were about to divorce.
