A 12-Year Love Turned to Nothing Chapter 09

A 12-Year Love Turned to Nothing Chapter 09

It was a video of Alice hanging out and chatting with a group of girlfriends.

She was curled up on the couch with a Budweiser, rolling her eyes nonstop. “That idiot Olivia actually asked me for a birthday present. Like she’s somebody.

“I only bother hanging around her to pump her for Nora’s secrets. Plus, with a face and body like hers, she makes me look even better by comparison. Someone like her, my friend? Please.

“And Chase’s best bro is broke and pathetic-born to be somebody’s errand boy his whole life.

“And don’t even get me started on his sister. Almost thirty-five and still not married, mooching off her brother like some kind of leech. Chase’s money is my money-why should she get to spend a cent of it? The second we’re married, I’m kicking her out.”

Alice went through every single person one by one, tearing them apart.

The video ended with a shrill, twisted shriek from Alice herself.

Everyone who’d just been defending her a moment ago now looked like their faces had turned to stone.

Not one of them had imagined that the sweet, gentle-seeming Alice they knew could hide something this ugly underneath.

Even Chase staggered back several steps, unable to process what he’d just seen.

The bouquet slipped from his hand and hit the floor. His eyes were full of nothing but shock and fear at the woman standing in front of him. “Alice, they’re my friends and my family. How could you talk about them like that? You’re honestly terrifying.”

Alice’s eyes welled up as she shook her head desperately, trying to explain herself, right before Olivia tackled her straight to the ground.

Olivia straddled her, slapping her across the face over and over, tearing at her wedding dress. “I treated you like a friend, and this is how you talk about me?

“You filthy liar! You called me ugly and out of shape? Two-faced piece of trash—I’ll kill you!”

Chase’s sister and the rest of their friends watched the whole thing with obvious satisfaction, some of them practically rolling up their sleeves to join in.

Worried things would turn deadly, I signaled the police to move in right away.

“Things have gotten chaotic on-site, two suspects are physically fighting. Requesting backup.”

Within moments, a team of officers burst through the doors and shut the whole scene down.

Alice and Olivia both walked away with a shiny new pair of handcuffs.

Chase looked confused. “Officers, thank you for responding so fast. But this was just a fight-was it really necessary to bring out the handcuffs?”

The officer gave him a cold look and laid out the truth without flinching.

“Who said this was just a fight?

“Our investigation found that Alice Foster and Olivia Carter deliberately provoked and antagonized Gina Sutton at the hospital, causing her death. Afterward, the two of them stole Mrs. Sutton’s body and kept it frozen in a used chest freezer in their basement.

“Murder, theft, and the desecration of a corpse. There’s no getting out of any of it.”
