The people in the town had seen enough drama for one day, and within thirty minutes, videos of the incident were already circulating on the pack network.
Damien’s family became infamous across the territory.
Everyone online said it was karma.
They said karma had finally caught up with them.
Damien, however, still had no idea what was happening.
He came to find me, wanting me to give false testimony for him.
What he didn’t know was that I had already secretly started livestreaming from a new account on the pack network.
He spoke as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
“When the time comes, just say you were the one who threw the pup into the cellar. Otherwise, Seraphine will have to go to the dungeons.
“You don’t want her to lose her child and go to prison too, do you?”
The livestream chat exploded.
[What kind of man asks his own mate to take the blame? Someone should seriously look into his relationship with his sister-in-law.]
[No way. Didn’t she get her own son killed? This man has no shame.]
I was so angry I almost laughed.
“Her son is human, but mine isn’t? If I go to the dungeons, what happens to my son?”
To my surprise, Damien answered with complete seriousness.
“Then we’ll have Nico adopted under my brother’s and Seraphine’s names. He’ll still be the firstborn pup of the Blackwood pack.
“Besides, you won’t be in the dungeons for more than a couple of years. I’ll find a way to get you out early.”
I picked up the cup of tea in front of me and splashed it all over his head.
“Who do you think you are, asking me to go to the dungeons for you? Why don’t you go yourself?”
Damien wiped the water from his face, furious.
“Selene, can’t you put this pack first for once? If I go to the dungeons, who’s going to make money and support everyone? Why are you always so selfish?
“Looks like Seraphine was right back then. I should never have mated a woman like you.”
“Then let’s break the bond.”
Damien froze.
“W-What did you say?”
I took out our bonding certificate and slammed it onto the table.
“Break the bond. Today.”
