The Wrong Baby Chapter 09

The Wrong Baby Chapter 09

“Stop pretending. You’re the one who threw your own son into the cellar. What exactly do you think makes you pitiful?”

I slapped Seraphine several times before she finally had no choice but to wake up.

She didn’t dare look at the body in the clearing at all. Instead, she screamed at me.

“You bitch! You switched your son out on purpose! You set this up to kill my son!”

I let out a cold laugh.

“Did I make your daughter throw him from the upstairs window?

“Your daughter is rotten, and you helped make her that way!”

The neighbors around us started pointing at Seraphine too.

“Well, now we know where the pup got it from.”

“Her own daughter killed her own son. Even the Council wouldn’t know how to untangle this mess.”

Damien lowered his voice and snapped at me angrily.

“Do you think this isn’t chaotic enough already? Hurry up and make them leave. If anything happens to Seraphine, I’ll never forgive you!”

I raised my voice even louder.

“And what are you going to do to me? Her own mate hasn’t even said anything, so why are you acting like the hero?”

The crowd’s meaningful gazes landed on Damien and Seraphine.

Damien’s face flushed red.

With so many people pointing and whispering, Raven was terrified. Crying, she tried to hide in Seraphine’s arms.

“Mom, I’m scared. I really didn’t know it was Marcus!

“If I had known, I never, ever would have thrown him down!”

But Seraphine shoved her away hard.

Her eyes were ice-cold as she snarled, “Are your eyes useless? I’m telling you, your brother is dead, and you don’t deserve to live either!”

Raven fell to the ground and cried from the pain.

“Mom, weren’t you the one who said that if that little brat was gone, everything in the pack would belong to me and Marcus?”

Seraphine’s face turned even paler.

Margaret was so furious that she rushed over and hit her.

“So it was you who got my grandson killed!”

The whole scene descended into chaos.

Then the pack healer arrived in a hurry.

After examining Marcus Jr., he said with regret, “There was waste in the child’s lungs. He was still alive when he

first fell. If he had been taken to the healing den sooner, there might have been a chance.”

Seraphine’s pupils contracted violently.

Trembling, she asked, “What did you say?”

The healer repeated, “I’m saying the actual cause of death was drowning in the cellar.”

A broken howl tore from Seraphine’s throat.

“No. No, that’s impossible!”

“I didn’t do it. It wasn’t me…”
