Selena became worked up. She grabbed Raymond’s arm.
“Ray, you told me before that Scarlett threatened your future and my safety to make you break up with me. You said the only reason you stayed with her was to protect me.
“Ray, as long as the three of us can be together as a family, I’m not afraid of any danger. We live in a country with laws. I don’t believe the Lumley family can just ignore the law and do whatever they want.”
Initially, I thought Selena was hateful for knowingly being the other woman. Then, I realized that she was just a pitiful person who was deceived by Raymond.
I said calmly, “Back then, Raymond said it was love at first sight with me. He volunteered to drive me to and from work every day. He said he wouldn’t marry anyone else. He even said he did not mind taking my surname.
“From the day I met him to the day I married him, I had no idea you even existed. There’s no way I threatened your safety to him. Selena, he has been lying to you this whole time from the very beginning.”
The residents who were watching also started to chime in with their complaints.
“I finally see it now. Raymond has been playing both sides the entire time. He’s such a player.”
“He wants the Lumley family’s money, but he can’t let go of his first love either. So, he lies to both women so he can have both of them.”
“He’s cheating in plain sight. He’s practically a two-timer.”
Selena looked at him in disbelief.
“Ray, that’s not true, is it? You wouldn’t lie to me, right? Ray, say something already!”
Raymond stayed silent for a moment. He then pushed Selena’s hand away and looked at me.
“Honey, I know I messed up. I was just messing around with her. You’re the one I truly love. I’ll pay her off right now. She can take the baby and leave. They’ll never show up in front of you again.”
Selena was totally shattered. She raised her hand and slapped him across the face. She shouted, “Raymond, I’m going to kill you, you two-timer!”
She repeatedly slapped him.
Ever since Raymond married me, he had held the position of vice president at the company and had grown accustomed to being flattered and respected by everyone. He had never been humiliated like this before.
He grabbed Selena’s wrist and shoved her away hard.
“If you want to blame someone, blame yourself for being so stupid. I said a few sweet words to string you along, and you actually believed them. You’re just all looks and no brains. You deserved to get played.”
Selena collapsed to the ground. Her face turned pale, and tears streamed down her face.
“Raymond, you’re so heartless. You’re going to get what’s coming to you someday!”
Raymond did not even look at her again. He turned to me with a fawning expression.
The way he looked at me disgusted me to the core. I directly pulled out the divorce agreement I had prepared in advance and slapped it down in front of him.
“When we got married, you signed a prenup. It said if you ever did anything to betray me, you’d walk away with nothing. Now sign this divorce agreement. From this moment on, we’re done.”
As soon as Raymond heard this, he panicked.
“Honey, we’ve been married for five years. You can’t be this cold to me. I swear I’ll never talk to her again. I’ll love only you with everything I’ve got. Just give me one more chance.”
