“Tell Your Mom to Apologize”, My Billionaire Dad Ordered, Unaware She Died 3 Years Ago Chapter 06

I spent three days in the ICU. When I woke up, everything was gray.

The smell of disinfectant. I hate it.

It always throws me back to the day Mom died. The day I couldn’t do a thing to save her.

I tried to get out of the bed.

Dad was right there. He pushed me back down gently.

He hadn’t shaved. Dark circles under his eyes.

“Annie. You’re awake.”

“The doctor said the cut was too deep. You almost didn’t make it.”

“Don’t move. You’ll rip the stitches.”

His voice was full of guilt and care. Looking at him act so concerned made me want to throw up.

“Mr. Harrington…”

My voice came out broken. Ugly.

“We won’t bother you or your wife ever again. What more do you want from us?”

“Stop pretending. You make me sick.”

Dad’s face went white.

His lips trembled. He stared at me for a long time. His red eyes full of regret.

“I’m sorry, Annie. The doctor told me about your leg…”

“I thought you two were lying to me. I didn’t mean to

Slap.

I hit him across the face again. Pure hate.

“You didn’t know.”

“All you had to do was check. One phone call.”

“You just didn’t care. You didn’t care how me and Mom were doing.”

“She’s been dead for three years. You never once came to see her.”

“You never gave a damn about us. Stop acting like you did. It’s disgusting.”

My chest heaved. I couldn’t catch my breath.

Everything went dark for a second. I barely held myself up.

Dad turned his head back. A bright red handprint on his cheek.

His eyes were wet. His shoulders and throat shook. A low, broken sob.

“I’m sorry…”

I could’ve chewed glass.

“Do you know…”

“Twenty grands. One of your ties. That’s all it would’ve taken to save her.”

“You killed her.”

Dad’s face shifted.

He stared at me. Lost.

“Twenty grands? I gave it to you!”

I grabbed the water cup off the bedside table and smashed it over his head.

Blood poured down his forehead. The room echoed with my screaming.

“That card was empty. Not a single dollar.”

Dad’s face went dead gray. Regret, rage, fear all tangled in his eyes.

He pulled out his phone and made a call.

“The card I gave Annie. Why was there no money on it?”
