“Tell Your Mom to Apologize”, My Billionaire Dad Ordered, Unaware She Died 3 Years Ago Chapter 05
The second I saw him, my whole body locked up.
I tried to shove the door shut.
Dad blocked it with his arm. His eyes were red. He grabbed me.
“What happened to your leg? You were faking, weren’t you?”
“Lauren isn’t dead. This is all some scam you two are running. Tell me I’m right,”
He shook me so hard the photo fell.
The glass frame shattered. Sliced across Mom’s smiling face.
I couldn’t hold the hate back anymore. I used every bit of strength I had and slapped him.
“Mom is dead.”
“You never gave a damn about us. Not once. And now you wanna play the grieving husband? Who’s this for?”
“Get out. Nobody wants you here.”
I have no degree. No job. No mom.
He’s already destroyed everything. There’s nothing left for him to use against me.
I shoved him out the door like a mad woman.
Then I collapsed against the doorframe. Slid down.
Picked up Mom’s photo and held it to my chest. Sobbing.
Outside, Dad kept pounding on the door.
His voice was raw with fear and desperation.
“Anna. Explain yourself.”
“How could your mom die? She was fine before.”
“What happened to your leg?”
“Is this another one of your pity scams?”
“Why aren’t you answering me? Talk.”
I touched Mom’s broken smile in the photo. Held a shard of glass.
And suddenly, I smiled.
“Mom. I found it. A place Dad can never find us.
Before I could think, I raised the shard and slit my own throat.
Blood sprayed. I fell.
The door went quiet for a second.
Then came the crashing. Louder and louder.
Right before I blacked out, I heard Dad screaming my name.
The door burst open.
He ran in. Saw me drowning in my own blood.
His eyes looked like they were about to pop out of his skull. “Annie!”
