The 100 Rules Dating the Male Lead Chapter 04
He’d spritzed on some carefully chosen cologne.
before leaving. Woody scent. Actually my type.
I softened my voice and complimented him, “Not a fan of the restaurant, but the cologne you picked today smells great.”
Then I straightened his tie for him.
“I really like it.”
Caspian’s ears turned a light shade of pink.
Seeing me reach out, he immediately took my hand triumphantly and shot a smug look at
Seraphina.
“Small world,” he sneered. “The second I come to
pick up my girlfriend, you show up. What a drag!”
Caspian’s always had a sharp tongue and a habit
of saying the opposite of what he means.
The comments said he’d keep having dumb fights
with the female lead later, only to end up
completely hooked.
I smacked his hand away and frowned.
“Hand–holding? I meant give me your phone. I
need to check it.”
One of the rules said I get to check my boyfriend’s
phone whenever I want.
Bullet comments popped up:
[Tsk, the male lead fretted all night, then cleared
out all the group chat history.]
[Side chick won’t find anything no matter how
hard she looks.)
Sure enough, Caspian didn’t look the least bit
hesitant. He just pulled out his phone and handed
it over like it was nothing.
He even smirked while I was checking it, proudly
saying, “Search all you want.”
Seraphina couldn’t believe her eyes.
Since when was Caspian Thorne okay with
someone going through his phone?
She couldn’t stand watching anymore. She forced
a sweet smile and linked arms with her
underclassman boyfriend who’d just arrived at the,
dorm.
“We’re leaving!”
Caspian touched his nose, confused why
Seraphina glared at him before leaving.
He thought it was kinda embarrassing getting
caught having his phone checked.
But then again, it was better than being
completely ignored like before.
After convincing himself of that, he puffed up and said, “Done checking? So? I did good, right?”
I nodded, and just as he was about to get cocky again, I said softly, “I just went ahead and deleted. every guy and girl our age from your contacts. Hope you don’t mind.”
“WHAT?!”
Caspian yelped, panic flashing across his face.
“You…”
He was about to ask how I could delete Seraphina too, since he’s actually a year younger than her, but then he remembered Rule #1.
No mentioning other guys/girls in front of her.
So Caspian shut his mouth. Defeated.
“Don’t mind at all.”
He’d worked way too hard to get her. No way he
was messing this up.
I didn’t call him out on his little scheme. I just
pointed to his car.
“Let’s just go to the restaurant you picked.”
Caspian blinked. “I thought you didn’t like it?”
I tilted my head and looked at him seriously. “If I don’t go, you’ll be sad, right? You put a lot of
thought into picking it.”
He paused for a second while opening the car
door.
And bit his lip.
The car crawled along the road.
After a moment of silence, he suddenly spoke up, “Elowen, what kind of food do you like? I’ll take you‘
next time.”
Bullet comments chattered: [The male lead is
actually pretty easy to handle. She gives him one compliment and he’s grinning like an idiot. What’s he so happy about?]
【Too bad his boys don’t believe he’s over Seraphina. They’re pushing him to bring the side chick around. Feel bad for her, honestly.】
【I know, right? He seems all tame now, but next
week at that party, they play truth or dare. He’ll have to kiss someone of the opposite sex for a minute, and he’ll pick the female lead. The side chick is gonna get wrecked.]
My smile faded. This boyfriend experience card
was only good for one week?
That’s long enough.
No way I’m the one losing here.
I slowly rattled off dozens of dish names.
Then looked at Caspian and said softly, “What to
do? I kinda want to try everything. Think you can
bring me something different every single day?”
“If my boyfriend cooked it himself, I’d like it even
more…”
Caspian cut me off hurriedly, “Deal! I’ll get the chef
to make it!”
“They cook way better than me anyway!”
I pretended to look disappointed. “Oh, alright.”
To make Caspian more compliant, I agreed to
meet his friends in a week.
And kept up the act of being gentle, quiet, and totally smitten with him in public.
Privately? Caspian got deleted three times a day
on average.
He’d get furious at me, then calm himself down
again.
Because I knew practically everything about his
likes and dislikes.
Caspian figured there was no way I’d know him that well unless I was head–over–heels.
He was at a friend’s gathering when his phone.
buzzed with a message.
Caspian jumped and checked his phone warily,
then relaxed when he saw the sender wasn’t
‘Sweetheart.‘
Elowen had gotten so demanding!
One minute without a reply and she’d delete him.
And every time she did, it took longer to get
re–added.
Last night, she didn’t even want him to bring
dinner. So annoying!
But he was too scared not to.
Because the rules said if your girlfriend’s mad, you
have to make it right.
Everyone said it’s just because she’s insecure and
loves him too much.
But he’d texted her an hour ago and gotten
nothing back.
What did he do wrong now?
