Your Lie Cost You Me Chapter 09

Your Lie Cost You Me Chapter 09

Mom was so eager to see the drama for herself that she made a special trip to the wedding. She even recorded what happened and sent me the video.

Halfway through the ceremony, a stranger stormed onto the stage and snatched the microphone from the emcee.

“I object!”

Everyone looked confused except Jean. Her face went pale, and she quickly covered it as she ducked behind Ber.

Ben frowned, convinced that I had sent the man to crash his wedding. He was about to have security throw him out when the man dropped a bombshell.

“Jean, don’t think marrying some sucker willing to raise your bastard means you’re rid of me! I’m the baby’s real father. No matter how old he gets, he’ll still have to call me Dad.”

Ben’s eyes went wide with rage. “What did you just say?”

The man laughed in his face. “What, you agreed to marry her without knowing the truth? Do you get off on being cheated on, or are you really that eager to play dad to another man’s kid?”

Jean clung tightly to Ben’s arm, her voice low and defensive. “I don’t even know him! Ben, you have to believe me.

Then she tried to pin the whole thing on me. “Noelle must have hired him to ruin our wedding.”

When I first saw Jean’s post, the caption had seemed oddly familiar. After digging through our old messages, I finally remembered where I had seen it.

Before Ben’s accident, Jean had used the exact same caption when she went public with a boyfriend. She later hid the post because she was afraid Ben might realize something was off.

All I had done was ask Ian to let it slip to the man she had been dating that she was getting married.

If Jean truly had nothing to hide, none of this would have happened.

The man scoffed. “Noelle? Never heard of her. But I know you. I know about the birthmark on the inside of your thigh and the mole on your chest.”

Ben’s mother was so furious that she fainted on the spot, throwing the wedding into chaos.

Despite the commotion, Ben dragged Jean to the hospital for a paternity test. The results confirmed that the baby wasn’t his.

Enraged, Ben grabbed the front of Jean’s dress and shouted, “Is this the wedding surprise you had planned for me?

His mother had barely regained consciousness when she heard the news and fainted again.

Mom laughed so hard that she doubled over on the couch. “You should’ve seen the look on Ben’s face. I nearly died laughing.”

Just then, the doorbell rang.

Her laughter faded, and she began grumbling. “That must be your father. He probably forgot his keys again. He’s been doing that a lot lately. The older he gets, the worse his memory becomes.”

She continued muttering as she went to answer the door. When she opened it, she found Ben standing on the ather side.
