You Left On The Day The Wind Stopped Blowing Chapter 07
Lily laughed in disbelief.
“Ben, what do you mean about blessings?
“Do you know how much I’ve sacrificed throughout these eight years?
ๆ gave you my love, my money, my effort! What did I not give you? Do you even have a heart?”
Her eyes were burning in fury, and she was defending herself with every single word.
However, she had forgotten that she was the one who pushed me away.
She had ignored my breakdowns and my sadness, and she chose to be with David.
“Lily, I also spent eight years. It’s not just you.
“If I’m heartless, I won’t wait for you for eight years, I won’t wait for a marriage that will never materialize!
“If you have a heart, you wouldn’t have cheated on me with my childhood friend. You won’t have conspired with him to hurt me!”
I roared from all the pain and hurt I had endured.
I started to tremble too.
Lily was stunned, as if she had just woken up from her fantasy.
“It’s not like that, Ben.
“You know David’s sick. I can’t…”
I could not help but interrupt her.
“Is it really because he’s ill?
“You’ve known it for a long time, right? He’s not depressed.
“He’s just lying because he wants you all to himself.”
When David was first admitted to the hospital due to attempted suicide, I had visited him.
However, when I reached the ward, I heard him say, “Truth to be told, I’m not depressed!
“I just want you with me. I can’t stand him treating you like a maid all the time!
“Lily, you like me too, right? Otherwise, you’d have pushed me away a long time ago!”
David was right.
If Lily had really hesitated and thought about me, she would not naturally wrap her arms around David’s neck when David got closer to her.
She would not give him any signal to continue.
། ”
When she saw that the cat was out of the bag, her voice became hoarse. She could not defend herself
“I’m sorry.
“I promise, as long as you come back to me, I’ll cut ties with him!
“We have eight years of history together. I know what’s more important!
“He’s just a distraction. You’re the only one I truly love!”
As I looked at her face, I felt her becoming more unfamiliar to me.
When did she treat relationships this lightly?
She had two relationships at a time, and she claimed she knew what was more important to her.
Lily had been corrupted by the world.
She was no longer the young girl who blushed when I held her hand.
She was no longer the naive girl who would try to warm up my coffee by wrapping it in her jacket for me.
“Lily, it’s too late for that.”
I pried her hand away from my wrist and said firmly, “I’ve been waiting for you all this time, but you never
cherished it.
“Now, I’m starting my own life.”
My new life would no longer have her in it.
When she left, she was still grabbing a corner of my shirt.
She was persistent as she said, “Ben, I know you only married her to make me mad, right?
“I have really learned from my mistakes. Let’s go back and get married!
“You really don’t have to sacrifice your happiness to make me regret.”
I admitted that at first, I really wanted her to regret that she had given up on me, and that did push me to marry someone else.
However, when I truly saw her regretting it and asking me to go back, I was not happy. Instead, I subconsciously wanted to avoid her.
I wanted to get away from the new trap that she had set up.
She would never change her ways.
I had experienced that too many times over the eight years.
I called the security guards over and dragged her out.
Lily struggled and kept yelling.
My ears finally had a moment of peace after she slowly disappeared from my vision field.
